The Horse is too old for that to happen.  I was mostly joking about a NY/PJ double bill.  If you can see them together (NY &CH) gotta do it soon, sun is setting.  I have seen them a number of times.  Magic.  Seen PJ more times.  No worries about them but they don't play Canada enough.

Quote from: blueandgoldguy on February 04, 2025, 07:57:00 PMIt was a disaster in the sense that attendance was horrible for the game.  I watched it on tv and the stadium was mostly empty.  "Official attendance" was something like 21,000 but there was definitely nowhere close to that number present in the stadium.  It would definitely discourage any further exploration of hosting pre-season NFL games for the forseeable future, maybe forever.

The promoter lost his shirt for the game and rightfully so given the outrageous ticket prices.  He tried to pull the same stunt a year or two before with an outdoor WHL hockey game at Mosaic Stadium and the ticket prices were so poor they had to cancel the outdoor game.

Agree with you on the fiasco with the goalposts.  The Packers were ridiculous with their complaints about the supposed dangers involved.
Tire fire imo

That NFL pre-season game at IGF back in Aug. 2019 was embarrassing.

It was one of the worst live events I've spent money on.

I am sure if they did it again, it would be much, much better.  The fiasco about the field was embarrassing, and the fact the teams brought nobody with name recognition meant zero walkup.

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

I'm not sure it would.

Preseason games are just as much of a joke and the NFL demands a certain price point. It's just not an event that will do well here. I'm a huge football fan, the exact target audience for this type of event, and I had zero interest in attending last time and that wouldn't change if it happened again.
My wife is amazing!

If they said 21,000 (i.e. sold seats) then you can bet 21,000 butts were in seats.  No one paid the prices they were asking and then didn't show up or resell their ticket!!  Weather was perfect, too.

The only way the number is wrong is if they just outright lied to save face.

Ya, someone call the NFL players a waaahmbulance.

Back to the original concert. Not a country fan, and maybe True North shouldn't be pick bands from the worst decade in rock to put on a festival.  ;D

Hey!  That's my decade you're dissin'.  Tons of great rock/pop from that era.

You want bad: try everything rock/pop after the 80's!  Ewww.

(You do realize everyone likes "their decade" best, right?  And everything after is garbage, right?  That means: you're officially old!)

There's great music from most eras. But there's a lot of trash music from most eras, too.

I think we can all agree on one thing, though: bro country is the latter.

Hope you did not stop listening to music after 1989...😀 although many people do stop listening to new music.

Here's a good rolling stone article with some bands, albums from the eighties.
Lot of great bands, albums, stars.

My first concert was Def Leppard in 1984. So that tells you how old I am. I also listened to Foreigner and Joan Jett so was super pumped when I saw this line up!

Plenty of good music still being made to this day, but you'll seldom encounter it broadcast on commercial radio stations.  How weird is it that some radio stations only play music from the 70's and 80's, which is 50 years ago now.  In the late 60's nobody was still listening to Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman music from the 30's and 40's, even though it was great music.
