What does this team look like in 2026.

MOS, Walters, Collaros, Oliviera, Bryant contracts all expire after 2025.

With Buck, Goveia and potentially Hall exiting, is it less of the family that is was up to now?

IIRC, Walters has stated there are no talks to extend him or MOS.

If we win a cup, do they "go out on top"?

If we don't, do they give up in frustration and move on?

What does it take to keep this crew together?

Put me in the "ask after the 2025 season" camp.

Winning a championship on home field is priority #1 for this organization, IMO.

It's difficult enough trying to figure out what the team will look like in 2025 let alone 2026.

As long as we're playing " what if's ", then what if the Bomber make it to the Grey Cup in 2025 and lose their 4th in a row?

You won't have to worry about some execs leaving on top, you'll see them run out of town on a rail. Nobody want's that record.

The team will face a transition year.
A veteran OC, like our boy LaPolice seems to a wonderful choice. However, does Wade like him?
Not sure he is a leader of men.
How about Bo Levi Mitchell after next year.

Great list provided in the earlier post. Offence will have a great offensive core. Defensively they have to spend to get some real players. Toronto had no one. Then went. And signed guys who demolished the less than a good Bombers, including Zac Collaros who did not perform averagely at best.

Interesting decisions to be made.

a factor is that this year there are a number of qbs that are quality players but are aging

BLM
Harris
Fajardo
Masoli
MBT
the competition for a quality starter in 2026 (like Dru Brown) will be intense. We need to be very aggressive in looking for that guy this year. Who knows if if has that potential but If we don't figure that out the rest doesn't matter a whole lot.
The rest of the lineup because of the cfl short contracts you can rebuild quickly, but guys like Rourke, Kelly Anderson Ford are already locked in.

IF Collaros retires after 2025, I'd go after Fajardo, who looks like he's being displaced for Alexander in Montreal and he'll be looking for a place to start. We wouldn't miss a beat.

It looks like he s going to start as a backup, we'll see how alexander does, he may or may not work out--how many times have we saw that show!! After 2025, Collaros, BLM, Masoli, Harris all may retire, so he may resurface again as a starter.

Of this list I dont see sask taking him back so of the teams with aged qbs Ham and us would be the only alternatives as a starter.
Right now with powell ham has a stronger #2 . If he goes to a team we may be his best bet.
Either that or just get his release and wait til a teams #1 qb goes down. I wonder if mtrl would consider keeping him even with the bonus knowing some other team in this situation would give up a 1rd pick to get him

Disagree, Fajardo has shown he can win games when the chips are down with his legs or arm and has a good command of the game. Any team playing below .500 by mid-season with the QB of their choice should strongly consider acquiring him if he's available.

If budget was no object I'd choose Fajardo, MBT or Arbuckle to back Zach up this season, because ultimately it would help the team get back to winning another Grey Cup.

The backup this year HAS to be the heir apparent to ZC8. Has to be.

Yes, there will be plug in options in the 2025-26 off season we might be able to get, but developing in house is the prudent course. If that's Wilson, great. If its on of the others we are bringing back to camp, also great.

But recycling a QB is not an option, in my book.

But, depending on the OC, if he thinks he can build a scheme around a retread, it's his job to decide, and his job to lose if it does not work.

I agree on Fajardo being overrated. He's never thrown more than 18 TDs in a season and his career stats are pretty pedestrian outside of one hot post-season run in 2023.

That doesn't mean he can't be a good QB2, though.

We've watched the guy for a long time.

I think your opinion is clouded by one game, tbh. He's had a couple good seasons when he is able to be carried by an elite defence. Otherwise he's been very much below average.

His last two teams he's been a part of agree with me.
