If maksymic is going to Edmonton, where is Jarius Jackson going?? here??

Jesse

My guess is that we get Jackson here. Unless we promote from within.

He seems to have done a decent job with the Elks offence last season, I wouldn't have any objections to giving him a spin.

Is he still under contract or negotiating to stay in Edmonton? Any word on who we've asked for permission to speak to?

Quote from: TecnoGenius on December 04, 2024, 06:56:33 AMI'd be all in on Lapo.  The Buck O was basically a remodeled and simplified Lapo O anyhow.  I bet half the schemes are still the same.  As such the transition would be easy(er).  But will Lapo work for Buck money??

My second choice would be whoever they are eyeing internally... if the dude feels up to the job.  That would also save oodles of coach SMS$$, though I'm not sure who you'd give it to (don't want to set precedent and be screwed in 2 years).  (Can you carry over unspent coach SMS to future years?)

I'm not keen on any retread (except Lapo), like McAdoo (barf), or any of the run-last OCs.

What I do want is super high-brain creativity and out-smarting D's again.  We haven't out-smarted squat in at least 1.5 seasons.  Look at what TOR O did to us in GC!  That's what I want again.  That's Lapo and Buck year 1&2 type stuff.

You don't have to out-talent and out-physical opponents if you can out-think them (again, see GC).

Buck called a completely different game than Lapo.  Roots were there from Lapo but Buck made his own house imo.

No idea, I suspect his contract expired with all the talk of Macsymic taking the job.  Wonder why there is no talk of Macsymic considering Wpg? He is from the Edmonton area so maybe it's as simple as that.

How would you feel about AH33 taking over as the Bombers OC.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

That would be a gimmick unworthy of discussion, imo.

He'd be great coming in as as RB or WR coach like Buck did when he started.

Buck will continue to call offensive plays but may consider hiring an OC as well.

I think that job would be too boring for AH with it's limited scope. Don't think he's desperate for opportunities after football and is doing pretty well.

Ridermania

Quality ball players don't necessarily make good coaches.

I thought Jarious Jackson did a good job after taking over under difficult circumstances.

Elks under him were good.

I wouldnt mind him at all.

And I doubt any team is desperate enough to force an unqualified player into such an important coaching role.

B.C. signed Buck, but it's still all about Rourke in B.C.

"I'm just excited to build the relationship," Pierce said of his QB. "I had an opportunity to talk to Nathan yesterday and briefly this morning. I think the biggest thing is, let's get to know each other. What do we need from each other? Obviously, he's an elite talent and what he does on the football field makes everybody excited. Let's grow this together. I want this to be a partnership, just like anything else."

I could well be wrong, but Rourke might be a "you're lucky to have me "   type.

Lapo was a great OC, but over his head as HC.

Return as OC and Scout, great fit.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.
