Bob Dyce extended again, but with Rick Campbell's peaking over his shoulder it might not last for long. The RedlyBlacks snuck past .500 last season for the first time in many a year.

Hail mediocrity!

He did just enough... basically because of Dru Brown.  OTT should improve again in '25 methinks.

I'm not sure how well regarded Rick Campbell is these days. His handling of the BC QB situation wasn't too impressive.

He was dealt a bad hand on the west coast, the call was made above his head to acquire Rourke and then suffer through his miserable performance. I bet there's no one happier than him he's out of there.

Ya, I don't blame Campbell for much of the buffoonery in BC.  They needed to burn their witch, and they did.  Campbell will almost certainly be a HC again somewhere.

I don't disagree with these sentiments but Rick Campbell's handling of Vernon Adams was, IMHO, terrible and frankly, gutless. VA deserved better and I hope he goes on to have a very successful career playing for an organisation that has his back.

What was he to do?? The owner wanted Rourke, the fans wanted local boy Rourke, so he played him and he stunk. Yes, he should have put Adams back in as soon as he was healthy, but I think the owner called the shots on this and insisted on playing him. In the end it didn't matter , we killed them and they could have had both QBs playing at the same time and it wouldn't have helped them!!

Some blame goes to the BC GM too.  All 3 are to blame.  But if your boss(es) are screaming "start Rourke" then you do as you're told.

A bit funny: if Campbell knew he was going to lose with Rourke then he's screwed if he does (lose and get fired) and screwed if he doesn't (ignore your boss and get fired) start Rourke.

Ya, probably the only thing that could have saved Campbell was Rourke coming in and winning every game like he used to.  I think he had to at least make it to the WDF.

Campbell was the scapegoat to Rourke crapping the bed and the GM and owner insisting he continue to play. BC was all in on this from the get go. They went over the SMS, lost draft picks and games because of this. All this did was feed Rourke insatiable ego and I hope he falls flat on his face this season and bc goes to zero with a bullet

For some reason, last season, the Lions decided the run game was not needed. Even though the team had an effective run game with Stanback in the one game (that I watched) where the team ran the ball, and... it worked.

who knows why coaches do that. We did it in the Grey Cup as you well know.

I guess they were hoping that eventually Rourke would recover his lost touch. They sure gave him a lot of chances.

I suppose it will be bombs away again this season for B.C.

Is Sukh Chungh cooked or what? I'm surprised he's still out there.

His last contract had $85,000 guaranteed money ($50,000 signing bonus and $35,000 bonus the first time he plays one percent of snaps in a game). That was almost half his total money. Who knows what he is asking but likely it is too much or wants too much guaranteed at age 33.

Last 4 seasons Chungh has only missed 3 games, so it probably not health related. At 33 he's not that old and he's still a good OL. So, I would say it's money.  Kolski 33, Lofton 33, Neufled 36, Bryant 38.

I m sure Walters has inquired as to what's the asking price for Chungh...Im hoping as time passes, his price comes down and wouldn't that be awesome to see him back in Blue and Gold! But I'm thinking he wants to play at home and he'll only sign with the Lions

TecnoGenius

Chungh could be playing the "ask the world, remain FA, wait for an injury" strategem that sometimes works in the CFL.  A team who just lost their star OG for the whole season may bite.  Could be us!
