Winnipeg Blue Bombers add defensive back to roster

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American defensive back Marque Collins.

Collins
(5-11, 175, Brigham Young; born: Sept. 18, 2000, in Sacramento, CA.) signs with the Bombers after a seven-year collegiate career with Weber State (2018-2024), and BYU (2024). Collins was a recent 2025 Big 12 Pro Day attendee last March.

With Weber State, Collins recorded 100 tackles (70 solo, 30 assists), five interceptions and one and a half sacks in 47 career games. He posted several career highs in his sophomore season (2019) with 39 tackles (29 solo, 10 assists), six pass breakups and one sack in 12 starts. He earned an All-Big Sky Honourable Mention in 2021 and was a part of three Big Sky Championship teams.

Collins transferred to BYU for the 2024 season. He started 12 of 13 games and had 25 tackles (16 solo, 9 assists) and two interceptions. He finished the year as an All-Big 12 Honourable Mention via the College Football Network.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers acquire Canadian RB Matthew Peterson in trade with Ticats

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired Canadian running back Matthew Peterson in a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Ticats sent Peterson, the second overall pick in the Global Draft and 39th overall pick in the CFL Draft to Winnipeg in exchange for Canadian defensive lineman Kyle Samson, the eighth overall pick in the Global Draft and 36th overall pick in the CFL Draft.

The 24-year-old Peterson spent five years with the University of Alberta, rushing 477 times for 3,032 yards with nine touchdowns plus 62 receptions for 583 yards and three majors. His best U Sports season came in 2023, he rushed 158 times for 1,317 yards, 8.2 per carry, with four touchdowns in 10 games.

The five-foot-10, 210-pound back was selected in the fourth round, 36th overall by Hamilton in the 2024 CFL Draft. He attended training camp with the team and returned to Alberta for his final U Sports season.

The 24-year-old Samson was selected in the second round, 20th overall by Winnipeg during the 2024 CFL Draft. The University of British Columbia graduate made the practice roster coming out of training camp and he was activated for the 111th Grey Cup in Vancouver.

The six-foot-three, 290-pound Samson dressed for 25 career games over four years with the Thunderbirds, recording 48.5 total tackles, 6.5 sacks and one interception. He was twice named a U Sports second-team All-Canadian while winning the 2023 Hardy Cup and Mitchell Bowl with UBC.

The Bombers selected Weber State defensive lineman Kemari Munier-Bailey, who hails from Great Britain, with the second overall pick in the Global Draft. Meanwhile, the Tiger-Cats chose Oregon State punter Josh Green, who comes from Australia, with the eighth overall pick.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers add two to roster

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American offensive lineman Christophe Atkinson and American defensive end Ryan Johnson.

Atkinson (6-4, 308, Ohio; born: February 21, 2001, in Leesburg, VA.) joins the Bombers after a six-year collegiate career at Ohio University (2019-2024) and recently attending Ohio's Pro Day in late March.

He would appear in 48 games from 2021 to 2024, starting in 30 of them. In 2023 and 2024, Atkison would start every game for the Bobcats, helping the team score 37 and 53 touchdowns, respectively. He is a four-time Academic All-MAC honouree (2021-2024), and two-time Academic All-District Team member (2022-2023).

Johnson
(6-3, 255, Southern Mississippi; born: January 27, 2001, in Starkville, MS.) signs with the Blue Bombers after a six-year collegiate career in both Junior College (2019-2020) and FBS (2021-2024).

For 2024, Johnson transferred to Southern Mississippi and posted 23 tackles (12 solo, 11 assists), three sacks and four tackles-for-loss (28 yards) in 12 games (6 starts).

Before Southern Mississippi, Johnson would play three seasons (2021-2023) at Akron University, recording 44 tackles (22 solo, 22 assists), two sacks, 4.5 tackles-for-loss (14 yards) and one knockdown and in 26 appearances (10 starts).

Blue Bombers add quarterback to roster

WINNIPEG, MB., May 1, 2025 –  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American quarterback Chase Artopoeus.

Artopoeus
(6-1, 195, Tennessee-Chattanooga; born: February 10, 2001, in Orcutt, CA.) signs with the Bombers after a six-year collegiate career with UCLA (2019-2022) and Tennessee-Chattanooga (2023-2024).

He would start 15 games during his career with the Mocs. Over those games, he would throw for 3,730 yards and 23 touchdowns, and rush for 152 yards and four touchdowns. In 2023, he would throw for five touchdowns in a game versus WCU and finished the season with only seven interceptions (20 touchdowns).

Artopoeus started his career with UCLA and saw action in two games during the 2022 season after spending his first three seasons on the scout/travel team.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers add five to roster

WINNIPEG, MB., May 2, 2025 –  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American running back Quinton Cooley, American offensive linemen Austin Euler and Michael Todd, as well as National receiver Nicholas Adair and National offensive lineman Alexis Levesque-Gallant.

Cooley
(5-7, 210, Liberty; born: May 18, 2001, in Bailey, NC.) signs with the Bombers after a five-year collegiate career with Liberty (2023-2024), and Wake Forest (2020-2022).

At Liberty, Cooley would rush 426 times for 2,655 yards (106.2 yards-per-game) for 29 touchdowns, while catching seven passes for 52 yards. After his final season he was a William V. Campbell trophy finalist. The year prior he was the CUSA Newcomer of the Year, CUSA All-Conference first-team honoree and HERO Sports Group of Five All-America third team selection. He would also rank top 20 nationally in rushing yards per carry (13, 6.34), rushing yards (7, 1,401), rushing yards per game (15, 100.1), and total touchdowns (14, 16).

With Wake Forest, Cooley would appear in 25 games, rushing 96 times for 402 yards and four touchdowns.

Todd (6-6, 295, Fayetteville State; born: August 15, 2002, in Lumberton, NC.) signs with the Bombers after being unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft.

He finished his career with Fayetteville State as a three-time All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection won a Conference Championship in 2024. He finished his final season on the first-team All-Conference in 2024.

Euler (6-3, 283, Clark Atlanta; born: November 6, 2000, in Lithonia, GA.) comes to the Bombers after a five-year collegiate career with Clark Atlanta University (2019-2024).

After redshirting the first two years, Euler would dress for 24 games from 2021 to 2024, starting all 10 in both 2023 and 2024. In 2023, Euler was invited to the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, which is an annual postseason all-star game featuring standout players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). During the 2020-2021 academic year, he was named to the SIAC All-Academic Team.

Adair (6-3, 195, McMaster; born: February 5, 2002, in Kingston, ON.) signs as an undrafted free agent after recently attending the 2025 CFL Invitational Combine in Waterloo.

Adair dressed in 14 games in three seasons with the Marauders, reeling in 62 catches for 829 yards and four touchdowns.

Levesque-Gallant
(6-2, 300, Montreal; born: January 22, 2000, in Montreal, QC.) signs with the Bombers after attending the 2025 CFL Invitational Combine in Waterloo.

Levesque dressed for 14 games at Right Guard, starting all 8 appearances in the 2022 season before moving to Center for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He would start in all his 12 appearances at center and help the offence total 1000+ yards rushing and 2,200+ yards receiving in each year, while only giving up 12 sacks.

Levesque has won the Dunsmore Cup in both 2021 and 2023, as well as the Uteck Bowl in 2023. Before college, Leveque was selected for Team Canada in 2018 and was a member of Team Quebec in 2017 and 2018.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers add three to roster

WINNIPEG, MB., May 3, 2025 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed American linebacker Kobe Wilson, American defensive tackle Camron Peterson and American kicker Andrew Mevis.

Wilson (6-0, 225, Southern Methodist; born: September 26, 2001, in Snellville, GA.) signs with the Bombers after a five-year collegiate career with SMU (2023-2024) and Temple (2020-2022). He recently attended SMU's Pro Day late last March.

During his 28 games (26 starts) at SMU, Wilson would record 117 tackles (54 solo, 63 assisted), nine tackles-for-loss, six pass breakups, four sacks, one forced fumble (one recovery) and three interceptions - running one back 82 yards for a touchdown. He was awarded ACC Linebacker of the Week twice in 2024, and ended the season on the All-ACC Second Team, DCTF First Team All-Texas, AP All-ACC Second Team, and a Phil Steele All-America Honourable Mention.

Before SMU, Wilson played three seasons at Temple and had 128 tackles (70 solo, 58 assisted), 11.5 tackles-for-loss, four pass breakups, 2.5 sacks and three forced fumbles (two recoveries) in 29 appearances (5 starts).

Peterson (6-5, 280, Southern; born: September 13, 1999, in Houston, TX.) signs with the Bombers after a recent stint with the New Orleans Saints, and a five-year collegiate career with Southern (2021-2022), and McNeese State (2018-2020).

In 2023, Peterson was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. Upon being waived, he was signed by the New Orleans Saints and participated in their 2024 rookie minicamp and earned a tryout at training camp.

During his two seasons at Southern University, Peterson recorded 50 tackles (14 solo, 36 assisted), 9.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two quarterback hurries, and one pass breakup in 22 games (18 starts). His performance as a pass rusher earned him All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) honours.

Mevis (5-11, 205, Iowa State; born: October 12, 1998, in Warsaw, IN.) signs with the Bombers after stints in the IFL, NFL, and four years in college with Iowa State (2021) and Fordham (2017-2019).

Mevis was recently a member of the Green Bay Blizzard and St. Louis Battlehawks of the Indoor Football league (2024). Before the IFL, Mevis was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent and attended training camp in 2022.

In 2021, Mevis would placekick in all 13 games with Iowa State, making 20 of 23 field goals (87%), including 2 of 2 from 50+, and all 32 extra points.

With Fordham, Mevis would appear in 34 games, converting 27 of 38 field goals (71%) and 63 of 69 extra points.

Blue Bombers add draft pick to roster

WINNIPEG, MB., May 5, 2025 – The Blue Bombers today announce the team has signed national receiver Joey Corcoran

Corcoran (6-1, 208, University of New Hampshire; born: December 14, 2000, in Montreal, QC) was selected in the fifth round, 39th of last week's CFL Draft. He played 36 career games over five seasons with the Wildcats. He recorded 126 receptions for 1,476 yards and eight touchdowns during his collegiate career, including a standout 2024 season with 39 catches for 459 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. Corcoran also led the team in punt return yards that season. A product of St. Paul's School in Concord, N.H., Corcoran was a two-sport athlete who contributed to back-to-back NEPSAC championships. After redshirting his first year at UNH, he became a consistent offensive threat over the next three seasons.
