Brady Oliveira nominated for two league awards

WINNIPEG, MB., October 31, 2024 – The Canadian Football League today announced the nominees for the Most Outstanding Player Awards, and Winnipeg's Brady Oliveira is once again a nominee in two categories: Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian.

The voting was conducted by members of The Football Reporters of Canada, the FRC's national chapter and head coaches.

Brady Oliveira earned a place on the Divisional All-CFL Team yesterday for a second straight season, and is now the West Division nominee for the league's Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian for a second straight season. Oliveira once again led the league in rushing and yards from scrimmage. He finished the season with 1,353 yards rushing and four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving) and averaged 79.6 yards  rushing per game while posting six 100-yard games. Oliveira also had 476 receiving yards on a career-high 57 receptions to finish the year with 1,829 yards from scrimmage.

Oliveira won the league's Most Outstanding Canadian a year ago, and was a finalist for the Most Outstanding Player as well.

The winners will be announced at the CFL's Player Awards, presented by Securian Canada, during Grey Cup week in Vancouver.

The previous 2 seasons Saskatchewan had 7 game losing skids in each year.
This year the Riders had a stretch where they went 0-6-1, a massive improvement.
Don't think that will be enough for Mace to beat out Maas though.

I think Brady is guaranteed to win MOC now, simply because he was up for MOP too and the other guy wasn't.

And what's a "Adeyemi-Berglund" anyhow?  Sounds like a new disease.  :D

That dude may have been ok, but in no way was he to their team what Brady is to ours!

MOP is a toss-up.  Now that we know the 2 finalists, I think they pick BLM for the "story".  Brady = no story this year.  Plus, BLM said he "wants it"!  Brad should say he "wants it" too!  :D  :D  :D

The fact Mace is in the running and MOS isn't is ridiculous.  MOS overcame a horrific season start.  He overcame horrifically debilitating injuries all-season.

I've noticed that over his entire tenure MOS has gotten the royal shaft in the coach awards.  Maybe he's not enough of a "story".

That's a legitimate portion of his record this season, it wasn't all bad luck,  O'Shea made numerous decision that caused the team to stumble out of the gate, and he's admitted as much.

Granted... but then why does Mace get the nod when MOS ended the season with a better record??

The awards never seem to favor coaches that are consistently good for long periods: unless they are 16-2 good and can't be ignored.  Aggravating.

The coach award is almost always given to the team that went from bad to good. The Hufnagel's who finish in 1st every year only win it when there's no cinderella story.

Are you suggesting that a giant wind giving us a better record means that MOS is a better coach?
