Morgan 2023: 15 Games, 107 DTs.  2024: 18 Games 111 DTs.

You could tell from watching Jones at practice that he was intelligent and was picking up the D quickly. He had the size and all the tools to play MLB. And then, AB4 and Wilson get injured.

Also the discovery of Western MOR Nick Anderson who posted really good numbers for a rookie LB.

Yeah, teams release good players all the time based on those above him on the depth chart as part of the reason. Jones was only going into his 3rd year coming off an ELC. He wasn't going to be getting a big salary increase going into 2024.

Jones is going to be offered more and we'll make him a fair and competitive offer. I don't see him widely sought after in free agency. Lots of good LB's on other teams.

Quote from: ModAdmin on November 01, 2024, 05:47:10 AMIt's interesting to see (a) why his previous team saw little reason to keep him and (b) the fact the Bombers saw something in Jones and (c) how he has flourished under the coaching and talent of his Bomber teammates.

It has always amazed me how this dynamic works.

I swear MOS/KW (and the coords) have a little notebook the write little notes into any time they spot a non-star player that looks like Bomber material.  Then they sit back and wait until the guy is cut or PRed and then pounce.

They only score once every couple of years, but when they do, it's usually game changing.
