Blue In BC

We haven't had any injury updates yet so maybe that's good news. Usually if a player is seriously injured we hear about that on Monday or earlier today. Now that doesn't mean we won't have some players that miss a game but hopefully no one is seriously injured and lost for the season.

Optimistic players were nicked and held out of the last game to prevent more serious problems.

Neufeld was nicked but returned to the game last week. As a veteran, he's just getting more time to recover.

Demski was a GTD but played. He's another player that doesn't need to practice per se, so not directly worried he won't play this week.

Wilson went into a concussion protocol so no surprise he didn't practice. I think he'll be ok for this week.

OTOH, no idea what the injuries are for the 3 defensive players. That could be a problem.

There was no mention about Wheatfall who didn't complete the last game?

EDIT: Daily IR report is out. Many listed as DNP. The cause's could be limiting but not necessarily taking them out of the next game: Hip, hand and calf. I don't want to down play how serious those might be, so it's a TBD for Alexander, Ayers and Griffin at the moment.

I won't be surprised to see them all play and I won't be surprised if they don't.

Quote from: markf on October 08, 2024, 05:01:13 PMThe Blue Bombers will end the year with an average attendance figure of 31,196, finishing the regular season with four straight sell-outs. This is unofficially the highest attendance figure in franchise history.

This is an insane number for avg attendance, including the 1-2 "cold" (i.e. Oct) games.

Canadian Mafia must be very happy indeed.

Now the league can take a chunk $$ away to give to the have-not teams, including $300k-over cheatin' BC, yay!

I haven't gotten to the 2nd H on my rewatch yet... but if Pokey was out the 2nd H, and then Wheatfall, who on earth was the 5th R?  We only dressed 1 extra R: Whitehead.  I know Johnny was in when Brady was out, but wouldn't the above situation require both Johnny and Whitehead to be on-field?  Or did we just never send 5 out again...

Your update will be interesting. I'm not sure what they did but before the game I mentioned this could be an issue. Little depth on the AR at the receiver positions and Whitehead already not 100%. Demski also didn't practice all week so that was another issue.

Hard to complain about all the extra imports on defence considering how that has worked out. OTOH, we could use another receiver and another OL on our AR.

I don't know if Wallace will be available this week, but I believe he'd replace the 2nd global on the AR. Getting another receiver would mean one less import on defence. Injuries may dictate that change in any case?

Injuries, injuries. Yikes.

Sorry but I kept losing track of who was in and who was out. Clercius for sure, Whitehead for sure, Kenny too, O. Wilson until he got hurt. I'm probably forgetting someone, apologies. I did keep spotting Johny Augustine who, very quietly, had himself a very nice game. I kept looking for Wheatfall all day and didn't see him, which surprised me. O-line appeared to be playing well for the most part.

On another note, it was five years ago today we made a trade with the Argos and got Zach Collaros. Time flies when you're havin' fun!

This trade has to rank near the top in Blue Bomber history.
