Throw Long Bannatyne

Quote from: Pigskin on October 07, 2024, 06:50:58 PMGoggle works well. 10 Games. 21 DTs, 11 STs, 1 sack. Good size 6'3" 225, big strong LB with good speed and quick to the ball.

Bench 22 reps, 40/4.85, lowest time 4.75, Vertical 34".

With that size he might only suitable at MLB, wonder if he'll be one of these vets that sits on the PR until an injury occurs.  As far as I could tell Tony Jones was healthy at the end of the game.

Yes but if Ayers can't play, then Jones could slide back to WIL if necessary. I'd prefer him at MLB but injuries might dictate what happens.

Realistically a change at WIL would be easier than changing at MLB. That said, so we have an injury to deal with and where would Notree play if needed.

Noting that Ayers, Jones and Notree are all the same size and all have some good speed.

Quote from: Sir Blue and Gold on October 07, 2024, 01:02:30 AMA quick Ticketmaster look suggests this game is totally sold out. There's a few single tickets in a couple sections. That's it!

Going to end with three straight sellouts and another season of consistently high attendance. (And hopefully another Western Final windfall.)
Yes !! SOLD OUT ! AGAIN !
Then I thought took a quick look at the rider home game against BC this Saturday .. the all important BIG "fight for a home playoff" game for the riders, and there must be at least 10,000 tickets unsold.
GO BLUE BOMBERS GO !

FOUR sellouts in a row and 500 tickets shy for the Lions game of it being 5 in a row.

Seven games this year with attendance over 30k.

For comparison, only game that the Riders had over 30k was for the Labour Day game.

to me this signing is an indicator that ayers may not be available. I would think he'd slot in as wil and rotated with Cole on passing situations

I wonder how tickets for the Jets game are going for Friday.I don't like it when there is a conflict in the schedule. I like going to the Jets home opener and this is the first time I will miss it.

Ah. I forgot about Cole. I think he'd be the one to move to WIL. He's been with the team and has good size and speed. That has to rank him higher on the depth chart than Notree ( if he's on the AR ) due to knowing our defence. At least for this week. All of this is if Ayers is in fact not able to play.

I can't see Notree coming in starting after a couple of days of practice. IF, Ayers is injuries Cole will start. Notree is very good on teams so he might make it to the AR as a backup LB.

Ayers: 6'2" 220
Jones: 6'2" 235
Notree: 6'3" 225

July 1, 2023. Notree had 6 DTs against the Bombers. Montreal signs Sankey and just like Jones in Edmonton he's on the PR. This might end up to be an excellent pickup.

Cole has been a backup at WIL most of his time with the Bombers. He was the backup WIL for the game against Hamilton . No need to move him.

Congrats on another sell-out!!
I see Winnipeg ending the drama on Friday with a ticket to the Western final, and if it's against BC the November weather should help us to the Grey Cup. What I don't want to see is another screw-up when we get there!!

Google doesn't summarize as well as you  ;D

Quote from: gobombersgo on October 07, 2024, 07:29:10 PMMost teams would have a practice today as there is 7 days between games. But, it's been the norm the last few years for the Bombers to have less practices than other teams.

The formula has been working for the most part so why change now.
We are just that good

Yep if they don't promote Cole to WIL starter for this game his future with the team would be questionable, that said I thought he played very well as replacement last game. He could be a player they eventually lose in F.A. to better opportunity elsewhere if Ayers returns to the starting role once he's recovered.

Quote from: gobombersgo on October 07, 2024, 06:08:30 PMHearing LB Bryce Notree is signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Notree was formerly with the Montreal Alouettes, playing in 14 games over the last two seasons with the club.

Hey, is this us finally doing the "sign our likely GC opponent" trick finally?  Does this mean we get to debrief someone of all the Thorpe secrets & plans?

Notree seemed pretty good there: I wonder why they let him go?  I'm not sure their depth is that hot, even if their starters are?
Never go full Rider!

"The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have sold out their regular season finale against the Toronto Argonauts, which means they will lead the CFL in attendance for the third straight season.

The Blue Bombers will end the year with an average attendance figure of 31,196, finishing the regular season with four straight sell-outs. This is unofficially the highest attendance figure in franchise history.

"The Blue Bombers led the CFL in attendance for the first time in franchise history in 2022, bringing in 28,652 fans per game. The team led the league in attendance again in 2023 with a figure of 30,449.

Princess Auto Stadium has the fifth-highest capacity among CFL stadiums at 32,343."

kind of feels like the Bombers are getting new players that will be part of continuing this  outstanding run as the current players gradually  leave the field.

"Dynasty " is in play.

So, 4 other stadiums in the CFL have more capacity, yet we outsold them.  Including the greenies.

Amazing.
