Quote from: TecnoGenius on September 17, 2024, 02:03:25 AMJohnson, LOL.  So many of us were like: "where's the production?".  MOS really talked him up, now boom, bye bye!

His best catch was last game the refs lied and called the rail tip-toe a non-catch.  Other than that, he was basically our sole attempt to have a hitch screen game, which never worked out.

And whoever said he got his chances... he sure did!  We stuck started him a ton of games for his status & production.  And we tried those hitches like 2-4 times a game.  I think once we got decent yardage.  I'm not sure why MTL can run hitch screens with impunity and get 10Y every time, and we struggle to have any hitch game at all.

Wheatfall back was the tipping point.  However, now we have 3 Kenny-types on AR (probably): Kenny, Pokey, Wheatfall (can we just call him Wheatie?... makes a nice-sounding triplet).
I call him Wheatie

Thanks for the correction, I didn't read it carefully enough.  Seen the injuries.

Wheatie it is then!  As long as mods don't get ornery...
(I wonder what the team nickname for him is?)

Would be nice to find out his team nickname and use that.

definitely could be a good player, at least as a returner

Quote from: LXTSN on September 17, 2024, 01:57:25 AMMy guess is that we have 3 guys to evaluate now. Winner gets the AR spot for the season, second gets a PR spot and third gets the boot.
I think Scott has the most potential, but Dolegala will probably get the AR spot due to his experience in the CFL.
I think Grainger has short yardage potential, definitely could see him coming back next fall on a futures.

CFL.CA transactions are always not timed in sync. Johnson was removed but Woli wasn't moved to 6 game IR. I wonder if that was a delay or an error originally. I know he hurt his ribs again but didn't think that would put him on IR again.

New players added to PR but the 2 on PR didn't get moved to AR as announced. How hard is to get these things done?

He was here for a short while during TC.

Could it be something to do with filing the contracts with the league?

Does the league have to wait for contracts to be finalized before they make the "official" changes to the rosters?

Are there paperwork delays, confirmation of signatures, etc. that may delay at the league level, but the teams already consider the paperwork "done" and announce the roster changes?

I don't know but that shouldn't impact Woli to 6 game IR. Probably doesn't impact PR moves back to AR.

K. Wilson and Cole are both back practising and eligible to come off 6 game IR. With Bighill out, getting Wilson back would be good news. He could take back his spot at WIL and Jones could move to MLB. At least that's the version I would imagine.

Cole is a good player but if all things are equal, I don't see room for him on the AR at the moment. If he is looking more ready to play than Wilson that could change the dynamic.

Bryant practising at " full " so hopefully he is back and that will cause a shift in options on the OL. Not only for starters but impacts the ratio for back ups potentially. That said if we add another import LB, then something else has to give in the ratio.

Whitehead still nicked. While he hasn't racked up huge stats, he was very important in both games against the Riders. On LD his return gave us better field position to run down the clock and get the additional FG. In the BB he had a shorter play that gave us a chance for the FG and then win.

If he can't play, I guess we see Case back. Losing Woli means we need a player that can return and back up at receiver.

A week of possible domino effect at a few spots.

I think the league and the teams don't give a rat's butt about the fans when it comes to public information.  They seem to love hoarding their precious data and proclamations.  We're lucky if we get it 3 days late and a dollar short, and through a sick game of "telephone" filtered through 2-4 intermediaries so no one has any clue what is actually the truth.

I stopped following and trusting the roster changes listings years ago.  Have they been accurate even once in that time period?

I wonder if Hart gets a look at returner sooner than later.

Myron Mitchell is still here too. He can do both.

Darren Grainger is back after coming in late to training camp after they released Barriere.

He must have done enough.

Yes but ultimately he dropped down the depth chart.First by Case then Whitehead. So that's why I think Case would be the next man up. Because we lost Woli this week and Whitehead is not 100%, the need for a receiver is more critical. Case seemed to get more PR from the coaches as a receiver that also returned, then the other way around?

He also had better average return yardage etc.

However, not sure if Whitehead plays or not yet.
