I also believe letting Carey go was a mistake. I always though Carey was a pretty good back. I also wonder about Dickenson and his coaches. Is it possible that BLM made Dickey look good and now that he's gone Dickey doesn't look so great.

This, in his prime BLM was a phenomenally successful QB, Huf did a good job of surrounding him with good players, so it's 50/50.

It's a good chicken & egg question.  However, BLM pretty much stunk up joints since leaving CGY, and Arbuckle also looked world-beating while in CGY, so I'm guessing the CGY team & system was superior.  Keyword: was.  CGY has lost its mojo.  I think they've lost the whole room and nobody has any respect anymore, except Begelton.  They should blow up the whole team, coaches and all.

I think the main problem is Dickenson The Greater.  Every time they gave him more responsibility he made the team worse.  And the less Huff was involved the worse it got.  Run DTG out of town like Sask did his brother.  Give it to Killam.  Don't let DTG touch the GM job, either.  Give him ceremonial Prez role or send him packing.

If Begelton ever comes up in FA, back up the truck.
Never go full Rider!

Quote from: markf on September 13, 2024, 09:15:38 PMThe rest of this season is probably Jake Maier's  last chance to show he is a starting qb  with the stamps or in the CFL.

so many opportunities for him, cant see it continuing without serious improvement on his part.
Agreed, he could be relegated to Taylor Cornelius status and flounder, not be taken seriously as a a starting QB.

I also agree with Pigskin. It would be nice to see Stamps get back on track in preparations for the Rider games they have up coming.
I LOSHT MY MEMBER IN AN UNFORTUNATE SHMELTING ACCSHIDENT!

Dickenson is the last of the HC/GM survivors, probably safe to say that experiment will not/should not be repeated.

If the Stamps lose this one their chances of catching the Bombers are just about done. They would have to win most of the rest of their games and the Bombers would have to lose their games. That is not likely to happen.

J5V

7-0 Calgary following a Montreal fumble. ***!
Go Bombers!

Tehedra

I hate the new block punting rules...

markf

What a rancid decision on them blocked kick, touchdown.

Looking for reasons why people lose interest in the cfl?

Crap like that probably plays a part.

How bad would a "seasoned" play-by-play announcer like Glen Suitor have to be before he'd be removed/replaced? On a RTP penalty against Montreal he referred to Maier as Fajardo and worse, never corrected himself. That's pretty bad. They don't look the same, they have different builds, wear different coloured uniforms, and well basically play for different teams. Just asking for a friend. ;)

I'd be happy to never hear Suitor again, but this is a terrible reason. The man is talking on air for three hours, he's going to misspeak occasionally. Everyone does.
My wife is amazing!

Sure, but I'm betting the average person would have enough awareness to realise they misspoke and would correct themselves.
Go Bombers!

Pete

am seeing Houston be picked on more, by mbt and now fajardo

J5V

Is anyone noticing a lot of dumb penalties today or is it the usual number?
Go Bombers!

markf

some of these players are not very smart..... both games today, there have been some

stupid penalties that are really affecting the outcome.

what was rambo thinking he was accomplishing tackling someone  ten yards off the field.

not great games this weekend.
