Agreed, stranger things have happened this year as Lions have to be heavy favorites.  Will be cheering on the Argos for sure.

No David Mackie for @BCLions⁩ tomorrow night vs #Argos. He's been dealing with a leg injury for a few weeks now & with the bye coming this makes sense to get him healthy. But a big loss given how many things he does for them

Sir Blue and Gold

Hahaha - Falaniko on the 'added to' part of the depth chart. They toooottaalllly didn't just edit the PDF to add him at the last second. Good job, guys!

REC DaVaris Daniels, OL Ryan Hunter back for Argos vs. B.C. Lions
By 3Down Staff -September 12, 2024

The Toronto Argonauts will get two massive pieces of their offence back this week after brief absences.

Veteran receiver DaVaris Daniels will return to the lineup after being a late scratch last week with a groin injury. The 31-year-old has had a quiet 2024 season, posting 30 receptions for 323 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games, but was named an East Division all-star in 2023 after recording his first career 1,000-yard season. He currently sits second behind only Eugene Lewis among active receivers with 5,902 career yards.

Also returning is left guard Ryan Hunter, who missed last week for undisclosed personal reasons. The 29-year-old has started every game for Argos this season and was named a CFL all-star in 2023. He won a Grey Cup with the team after joining the organization in 2022, as well as a Super Bowl as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.

In order to make room for the two veterans, American defensive back Mark Milton and Canadian offensive lineman John Bosse have been returned to the practice squad.

The Toronto Argonauts (6-6) will visit the B.C. Lions (7-6) on Friday, September 13 at 10:00 p.m. EDT.

B.C. Lions lose do-it-all FB David Mackie for matchup with Argos
By 3Down Staff -September 12, 2024

The B.C. Lions will be without one of the most underrated players in the CFL when they take on the Toronto Argonauts on Friday.

Fullback David Mackie (hamstring) has been placed on the six-game injured list after being limited in practice this week. The 30-year-old has caught six passes for 52 yards out of the backfield this season but has also handled most of the team's short-yardage quarterbacking duties, rushing 24 times for 101 yards and six touchdowns. When not under centre, he is a vital part of the blocking scheme in front of league-leading rusher William Stanback and a leader on special teams, boasting seven tackles this season.

The Lions have converted defensive lineman and long snapper Riley Pickett on the roster to handle fullback duties, while rookie American running back Jordan Terrell will dress for the first time behind Stanback. Canadian receiver Ezechiel Tieide will also dress to fit the ratio.

The Lions will also make some changes along the offensive line, where American Chris Schleuger returns from a knee injury and will slot in at left tackle while the team awaits the recovery of stalwart Jarell Broxton. Canadian David Knevel, who stepped in last week as the starter, will remain on the roster but has been bumped to a depth role.

To accommodate the changes, B.C. will send a pair of American defenders down to the practice roster in linebacker Jackson Taylor and defensive end Julian Falaniko.

The B.C. Lions (7-6) will host the Toronto Argonauts (6-6) on Friday, September 13 at 10:00 p.m. EDT.
