WINNIPEG, MB., August 13, 2024 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the following transactions:

VA will want to be a starter, no chance he sits around on the bench.

He has no choice while he's under contract. Probably an off season discussion.

According to Farhan Lalji, Rourke signed a 3 year deal through the 2026 season.

Several sources stating that deal was structured to allow VA to remain with Lions - don't expect him to be traded.

I suppose he could have taken a lower and pro-rated salary for 2024. Regardless this is likely to have some trickle down effect on their roster in 2025 if not this year.

Lions say Adams won't be traded but that may be smoke and mirrors that could change in 2025?

Only 2 practices this week? What the heck?

MOS talked about this a bit in one of the coaches shows. They handle bye weeks differently depending on when they occur in the season.

Because our bye weeks are later in the season, the guys probably wont be "allowed" to travel in later byes. They'll be expected to be pretty dialed in to prepare for play-offs. So the team probably gave them the maximum amount of time possible this time around because it'll be their only opportunity.

Lawler is back. It's just about how fast he gets into game shape to make the active roster.

Even as a decoy he will be a valuable asset added to the roster. Also expecting Haba to be added but I'm not sure what decision they will make to delete someone. If Ayers is injured, that's a short term solution for this week.

We don't have another import LB on the PR or available from the IR at the moment.

I don't even know that you mean by word salad in this context. He wasn't talking around the issue without answering the question; he gave us insight into how the team always handles the bye weeks and when they allow players to have more or less personal time beyond the league mandated minimum.

He has no leverage. They can't afford him next year and he will have to be moved. But no reason they can't keep him around for the rest of this season.
