Well,

SSK - The game was in SSK with Trevor Harris starting (who is a big improvement on Patterson). Montreal was playing their back-up (despite him being good, it's not Fajardo). SSK proabbly should have won this game, except the command centre and kicking.

HAM - Tre Ford was not starting and the game is in Hamilton. I think this was the first non-Tre Ford game the Elks have won in 2 years. In this game I learned Hamilton is the worst team in the league and Calgary is probably 2nd.

BC - Rourke was back and the game was in BC. It's really hard for a team to win back-to-backs against the same opponent. I would have picked WPG if Dolagala was starting.

HAM - Tre Ford was not starting and the game is in Hamilton. I think this was the first non-Tre Ford game the Elks have won in 2 years. In this game I learned Hamilton is the worst team in the league and Calgary is probably 2nd.

Ya, HAM had every reason to win that game.

1) They can't lose all of them.
2) It was in HAM, where they tend to want to protect their barn.
3) Fans help in HAM (but crowd was light? very odd... weather?).
4) No Ford, and like you said, no Ford equals guaranteed loss.
5) HAM/Milanovitch really needed that home win for myriad reasons.
6) Not sold on Jarius upping the ante in EDM.
7) Powell was looking very promising (might they win if he stayed in?).
8. BLM had recently thrown his 500Y zillion-TD game just a couple of weeks earlier.

The complete meltdown and suckage of HAM was shocking to me.  The org is clearly in completely disarray.  Maybe there's a ton of stuff going on behind the scenes we don't know about.  Maybe Milanovitch has completely lost the room, in which case it's similar to Dickenson The Lesser in 2023 and they should just fire him now.
