It's not like any of these teams are selling out their premium seating or their building if that is the factor. BC had teams on either side up until a few years ago.

Their wins have all come against the Elks (1-1), Ticats (2-0), Argos (1-0), and us (1-0). Record, 5-3-1. That has to be the softest start to a season imaginable. How lucky for them that Trevor Harris got injured when he did too.

The rest of their schedule is against Als, Argos, Us, Us, Stamps, RBs, Elks, BC, Stamps. So us twice, Stamps twice, BC, Als, and Argos. I can seriously see them not winning another game this season.

I wonder what would our record be if we had played the Elks twice and the Ticats twice to start the season.

Officiating was complete mess last night and so had the game continued after the weirdo calls, another series could have awarded one team with 2 points and if without controversy, would have made the outcome more palatable.

Expanding to 3 mini games would probably solve the issue.  How many ties have we had with the 2 mini game format?  Most get resolved in 2 mini games, I'm betting all would get solved in three.

What happens to all the Week 10 Pick'em's when a game ends in a tie? Does everyone lose that one?

Yes, no points awarded for a tie game.

Meh, I'm fine with ties. At that point, no one really "deserves" the win anyway.

The set up makes it very difficult for a tie to happen while minimizing the extra risk on the players of playing too much OT. Just because it happens once in a blue moon doesn't mean you need to change anything.

There have been 6 ties in 58 overtime games since 2006.

I don't mind a tie. I can remember before over times and often a tie decided your playoff spot. It has value.

What I would like instead of extra overtimes, just start the 2nd possession on the 45. Just make it a little more difficult.

Not like McGhee is a common name... are they brothers?  Glad our McGhee is still couch-sitting if we need him.

Safety issue.  Players start cramping (and other issues) if they are forced to play too long.  Also, the TV time slot has to be considered.

Maybe.  Maybe not.  The problem is everyone starts in FG range.  So unless you do major oopsies (like we've seen lately!) everyone can always get 3.  I wonder if every mini game lops off another 30% chance of a further tie.  You can probably calculate that based on how many OT1s go to OT2.

That might help, but then you have the problem of potentially less O... harder to get a TD, harder to get a FG.  Remember how the CFL made moves to try to generate more O/points.  You wouldn't want to make it so OT2 gets both teams zero points, then fans will say "what's the point".

Maybe it should be the opposite!  2nd OT starts at the 25!

Maybe "penalty kicks"?

Each team tries a FG from 35, then 40, then 45, then 50, then 55... first to hit when the other misses from a distance wins.

I like our chances...  lets start at 55

Haha, ya... for sure a bit self-serving with Castillo on our roster.  I bet you don't suggest that if Leggs was still our K!   ;)

But Jesse has a point: a tie isn't so bad.  I know the team that "should have won it" (like SSK) gets all po-faced, but for non-involved fans (like us) a tie is OK.  And it's super rare.  Plus, Vegas loves it because they get to steal a ton of free money.

The single point in the standings means a lot. It means we can't tie Regina or Ottawa, we need an extra win to be 1 point ahead of them.

Which if achieved, does not require us to win the season series.
