The Zipp

Quote from: Jesse on July 31, 2024, 06:10:24 PMI think that's a meaningless distinction. We need both playing probably the same amount of snaps.

We've had 2 games showing Streveler is the next man up.

I am hoping they would be going away from that...you can't tell me Augustine isn't a better option at slot than Strev.

I'm not telling you anything except what we've seen the Bombers do with both Strev and Johnny available.

Quote from: dd on July 31, 2024, 06:07:31 PMYa, that's what worries me too.8

Everyone saw what Toronto did to our offense in last weeks game, blitz the middle and kill Collaros, I am hoping we have a FB in the scheme to help out with this or Collaros won't finish the game.

I agree. They really need to help Zach.

He has a lot of guts to play, so soon after the awful  beating he took the other day.

Every game has own personality, one turnover,1 sack, maybe Defensive td Special teams td . Followed by 2 and out, followed by Bombers offensive TD.All of a sudden 14 nothing early in first qtr,but don't let them come back, killer instinct

That's how I see it

Its not a mystery what bc will do:
On defence 1st down stack the middle against run, 2nd dwn if 7 yds or more blitz
On offence hit ths short slants or outs til alexander moves in then long ball to hollins.
We need to play more press coverage with Alexander playing more of a true safety rather than just a run stopper

But at the end of the day, in order to make plays and put this team in a good position to win, I've got to do that. I've got to go back to basics and put two hands on the ball and not make as much happen after the play. That just comes with it. It's football.

Ugh, took Demski & WFC 2 more weeks of fumbling after I was screaming this?  Oh well, better late than never.  Now he better do what he says he's gonna do with those 2 hands!

And... ding ding ding, 3 IMP OL and MOS states Eli too small... finally, WFC listening to the forum!!

If we still suck, next do 4 IMP OL.

I do find it a bit odd that we decided "the guy" at RG is going to be a TE converted to a OT... now converted to a RG.  Well, I'll assume they know what they're doing!  Can our OL be any worse than last week?  That would be EDM level bad, so I'll assume the answer is "no".

You beat me to the quip.  We're still starting enough NATs we can go 4 IMP OL!   :o  :o  8)

You know what that means... dare I speak its name?  Demski is last man standing.  Football gods have a target on his back.  I shudder to think...

Quote from: theaardvark on July 31, 2024, 04:12:04 PMIs it the new turf?  Is it too soft and hasn't "packed down" enough yet?  Do we need to get a steamroller out there for a couple hours?

Ya, but like half the injuries have been upper body... not a turf issue.  Take Kenny & Woli taking smacks in YAC.

Quote from: theaardvark on July 31, 2024, 04:12:04 PMAre we just suffering from the kharma of being a low injury team for so long, and now it hits?

You need to stop saying "blitz the middle".  Sacking and whacking Zach didn't require any blitz by TOR.  Just a straight on rush.  Even that article circulating with the stats showed that all but 1 of the sacks was a straight 3 or 4 man rush.  Ouch.

I can only wish Zach was taking sacks by the blitz!!  That would be infinitely better than the hot garbage we saw last game.

That new IMP hoggie better be darn good instead of a mistake-filled rookie or Zach may not survive the half.  I'll choose to be cautiously optimistic.

I'm not sure BC is patient enough for short slants half the night.  Plus, that last BC game they showed how to cutoff McInnis' automatic 10Y slant play: get a DL or LB in front of him.

Heck, why bother even putting a man on McInnis... instead everyone should be guessing and undercutting the route.  Let a DB or FS come up and stop an explosion if he catches the ball.  Some undersized man coverage won't stop him catching it, so why bother.  Give up the 10-17Y every catch and instead try to stop the catch in the first place.  Turn a couple into batdowns and INTs and BC will stop that right quick.  Medium risk, high reward.

Oh ya, and tackle him low (legally!!) in the legs... he's had a wonky leg for many weeks now.  He was almost out of the last game.

Can we hold onto the ball tonight? How will our OL perform tonight? Can our front 7 get pressure on Adams?

Let me see if I can answer that:

Can we hold onto the ball tonight - probably not!
How will our OL peform - probably a C- or D+
Can our front 7 get pressure on Adams - Maybe but he is very mobile and guys like Jake Thomas could not catch a turtle if they had a head start.
