Not that I care, but ever since their name change it seems to have coincided with their slide to oblivion. Almost as bad as the Gliebermans in Ottawa during the 1990's! Or the cardboard box guy in Calgary in the early 2000's. NO football acumen AT ALL! No wonder they royally flopped.

That what I've been saying!  It's like the torn hat being lucky, but the opposite.  The Elks name is cursed.  It's stupid anyway and nobody likes it.  Nobody.

They should have changed it to the Esks.  No reference to the "name that shall not be spoken".  Just Esks, a made up word that doesn't mean anything.  If you're still offended, say it's short for esker if you want, which is a real word meaning ridges of rocks leftover from glaciers, of which there must be some up in mid-latitude AB.  There, Esks is now short for eskers.  Problem solved.  Glaciers are cooler than elk anyhow.  The helmets can have pictures of rocks.

BTW, Elks isn't even a real word.  Plural of elk is elk.  Maybe when they fire Chris Jones they can change the name again.

I have driven by it many times. Recall your high school geography and know that Erratics and Eskers actually exist all over the Canadian prairies as we were all covered by glaciers thousands of years ago. 

They should have went with SCHMOES, not Elks anyway! There was an Edmonton Elks football team in the early 1920's I believe too.

That's cool, I'll put the erratic on my bucket list next time I drive out that far.  Ya, lots of karst topography in the prairies.  It's an interesting topic.
