Quote from: TecnoGenius on June 23, 2024, 06:04:27 AMBiggie was making plays in week 1 & 2.  You didn't see him much in week 3 because VAJ is a gunslinger.  It's not Biggie's job to be 60Y downfield.

If you want to point out a guy who is never on the scene, why not talk about Alexander?  The only FS in the league who is never in the picture on a 60Y explosion.

Biggie is also very cap friendly.  He's probably the most affordable vet MLB in the league.

Out of everything wrong with our D, Biggie is literally the last thing to worry about.  If you see specific plays he's costing us bigtime, mark the Q & clock and post them here and we can all take a look.  It's often hard to see if a specific single player is botching things if you're not focusing on him.

Just my 2c.
Biggie didn't play in Week 1 from what I remember

Argh!  Yes yes, I misspoke!  :o  :o  I've been corrected 3 times now!  Ya, Biggie still had his TC injury in week 1.  So change what I said to him looking good in week 2.   8)  8)

Quote from: DM83 on June 24, 2024, 10:24:52 PMlol! So was I.
All I ask for is effort.
I think Demski I thought Olieviera, and #27 and Shoen.  Of course Wally, I like Strev.
Offensively we were more competitive.

Defensively, we don't have a pass rush, so every cover guy will be looking awful. And. This is noticed by all teams we have played.
God help us if no body is brought in to rush the passer. It was like a seven second clock. Did you see the one play where no one rushed and Adams was untouched.  It was like. The team o portion of practice." Let the QB throw" I asked to see the stats, but am missing them.
Also missed Schoen injury anyone explain what happened? Thanks

Heard Schoen's injury happened on the play Woli lost his helmet, apparently non contact far side of the field so it wasn't caught on film.

Thanks!  Spotted it!  3Q7:05 live time you can see him topple down in front of his defender.  Doesn't look like he was touched.

This is probably the worst case scenario then and we are in heaps and loads of trouble!!

He was doing his juke dance stop/stutter to make his cut inside and goes down.  That's usually ACL, and that means season ender.  However, ACL usually doesn't need 2 guys carrying you off the field 1hr later.  So it could also be achilles, and that is more than a season ender.  Achilles often requires dudes carrying you off... but weird that they wouldn't boot it on-field!

But I don't see any indication trainers went out on-field, so Schoen must have gone off on his own power... and he was on the East side, which is long walk!  So how did he get off?  Why not take a knee?  Trying not to screw up our Woli celebration and ruin the tempo?  I guess he could have snuck off to the East sideline... being able to do that would hint at ACL/MCL and not achilles.

What an overall odd situation!  We got tons of replays of the Woli play but nothing wide-out or all-24.  Very hard to pin this down precisely.  Best case is minor MCL or something.

TSN is so useless for injury reports!  They should have been all over this!  This is a big in-game story.

Now I'm bummed out again.  Where's that ledge??   :D :o :P

They probably ask the teams for injury specifics on the sidelines or up in the booth, in the case of the Bombers you know how that will go.

Quote from: TecnoGenius on June 25, 2024, 03:06:10 AMI don't buy that.  You're telling me Sankey is only earning $175ish?  Because that's the last I remembering hearing for Biggie... or less.

Sankey is a $200+ LB easily.  My guess is $220.  If someone got him for $175 then that's a steal.

They're both earning 165k and Sankey has 6k in bonuses available to top out at 171k. I don't really care if you don't buy it, the information is out there to be consumed lol

No team is under any obligation to divulge injury details to the media.

I'm always so torn on this, especially in this day and age. With the way they shove betting in your face non-stop, teams should be forced to be more transparent with injury reports but OTOH, I think you need to respect privacy if the player as well.

Looked like AB4 tweaked his calf today early in practice. Seemed to shake it out, and was running extra sprints later in practice.

Unfortunate but I wouldn't mind seeing what Jones can do if we bring him off the PR.

It wouldn't be all that surprising to discover O'Shea is against the gambling component and does all he can not to cooperate. The whole gaming industry seems super sleezy to me, backed by Russian oligarchs and shady off-shore financiers.

The gaming industry has always been a greasy sleazy industry, but they're desparate for advertising revenue and since there's no more booze or cigarette ads, we re left With the gaming skeezebags. Sad testament of the times we live in

Haha ya.  From one vice, to another, to another.  Is any of these vices better than the others?  Why is it only the vices have enough money to throw around at advertising?

I just realized that F1 pulled a fast one... for years/decades there was no booze/cig ads allowed.  Now it's mega ads for Heineken 0%!!  They found a back door!  Just make a 0% beer no one will buy and claim now it's ok to put your brand name back on F1 because you're advertising juice, not alcohol!!  Brilliant!!

Oh, you're selling more Heineken (real) beer now too?  Total coincidence, I'm sure!

P.S. I'm not a prude by any means: I preferred F1 with booze/cig money because then they didn't need a stupid spending cap and dumb homologations.  If booze/cig ads in CFL allowed us to have 5X the cap, I'd be all over that.

Right, but John Lu basically has carte blanche to roam the sidelines sniffing out stories.  In fact, I'd say it's his obligation.  He should be poking around the WPG bench and checking out Schoen and even asking him questions (off-air) if he feels like talking.  And bugging trainers for details, etc.

Every other league does this.  That's what reporters do.

It's pretty sad that 1.5Q's went by and TSN didn't even mention Schoen's name or notice he was gone!!  If I hadn't told everyone here about him being dragged off the field by 2 players 5 mins after the game, no one would have known squat that evening.

I think it's sad when we prey upon Addict to fund whatever sport/event. Cigarettes, booze and gambling continue to ruin people's lives yet we ll turn a blind eye for a few bucks. What a Morales's society we live in.   No one vice is better than the other, they all make me sick, and I couldn't give a rip about cap space. Seriously. People continue die from cigs, but let's keep making and selling em. People lose everything they own to gambling addictions but hey if it means our cap space goes up who cares!? That's just sad.
