Do you think we made a mistake at DC

My guess is that Richie Hall is around this season to mentor Jordan Younger and that come 2025, Hall will retire and Younger will fully take over.  Just a GUESS.

To be absolutely fair, road griller has mentioned several things MOS is doing wrong and ways to fix them.

I've had my share of questions too but now after seeing Monday's practice I think our problems are 90% injury related. Not just the guys sitting which itself is horrendous but a number of guys taking heat here are on the field playing hurt.

LOL. He's suggested cutting Collaros, Alexander, Jefferson, Lawler and a few others. He's also suggested Streveler should be starting.

He's absolutely spouted a bunch of nonsense as well. But I was specifically responding to ichabod, who had asked for reasons or suggestions to why MOS was to blame; and he has done that.

For sure.  If we started the season with the projected starters, including Parker & Lawson, we'd easily be a .750 team, or higher.  Not as good as last season, but good enough to win.

Starting the season without Parker & Lawson and sustaining zero new injuries (of import) and we'd easily be .500.

But now that the IR reads like a "Bombers Top 10 List" and we lost both superstar top-paid IMP Rs, I fear we can't win a single game at all.  No D, and now no O.

The old adage is every rookie will cost you 1 game.  Ya well, we now have or are cycling through 18 rookies.  That's 18 games.  Sure, I'll reexamine when Kenny comes back.  But losing Schoen for the year will really hurt our chances of being the late-season Comeback Kids.

Our playoff hopes may rely on there NOT being parity this season.  We need EDM to suck as bad as us, and we need OTT and HAM to suck so we can crossover.  But I do see glimpses of more parity, so the chances of that are pretty low.

From a puzzle piece standpoint winning any cup this year is hopeless, as even if we get everyone back but Schoen, we've taken too many steps back on the pieces to be even remotely as good as last season.  And when we crossover to the E we'll have to go through MTL and TOR.  Good luck with that.  That said, a WPG@BC GC would be something to behold...

Yea, I suspect we will be a very good team by the end of the season. It will take a little more work than usual and maybe a little more roster upheaval as well but I don't foresee a circumstance where Walters and MOS just sit on their thumbs and give up.

There's still too many good pieces that are just making mistakes right now.

On offence, we're going to look way different from nice Brady gives us a full game. On D, I'm really excited about Fayad and Adams. Just need some time to bring it all together.

Nah, I picked WPG to win through weeks 1-3, holding out waaaay longer than 50% of the pickems players.  All that time I offered small-tweak solutions to our manageable woes.  I thought we could still be a strong team if we could just get our O scoring what they should.

But Schoen going down for the season is the final straw.  Maybe I could get some hope up again if we brought in a vet or two.  But week after week we sign no one and we just go further down the TC-cut chart.  Ya, no SMS, but hence my restructuring thread...

It's not that I got hopeless fast, it's that I got hopeless deeply.  Losing your #1 and #2 top-paid Rs (for most/all of the season) that single-handedly account for 1/10th of the SMS will do that to a guy.

This is unconfirmed as of yet. Dave Naylor going on The Green Zone to gossip is pretty poor form on his part, especially when you consider no one outside of CFL Clickbait Central (3DN) has made mention of it.

I suppose so but it was a non contact knee injury which means it's probably an ACL/MCL. Of course you never know, and you always want reporters to have a good source of information, but it's the most likely scenario (coupled with O'Shea's words earlier this week).

I'm sure his injury is going to keep him sidelined for a significant amount of time. I just think it's reckless for an insider to make such a conclusive claim, on a dorky radio show especially. It comes across as sensationalist.

Yeah, totally fair. Hopefully he can come back because we could definitely use him.
