Quote from: Pete on June 16, 2024, 06:30:33 PMI'm also hoping that buck is game planning for the Lions ,(vs just playing bomber football) some things id like to see:
[ ... ]
Defensively take advantage of BC's oline, bring pressure from different spots, making sure the ends are keeping containment. I'd like to see Alexander take a deeper drop. Adams loves to go deep when he gets a bit of time.

I would hope Buck is spending 16 hour days @PAS figuring things out and re-scheming.  Anything less is unacceptable right now.

BC's DB corps has proven very weak so far this season.  I would attack it like crazy.  Their run stop doesn't seem great either.  BC D is not the D of last year.  This is great news for us.

Your ideas are all good ones.  I would 100% drop Alexander to roam Dequoy-style providing all the over-the-top support and maybe getting in to make some picks as single-looking-coverage becomes double.

We don't need BA37 in run support this week as BC has once again proven they want to have the weakest run game in the CFL.  Sure, Stanback will pretend he's being used, but he really won't, unless BC specifically schemes him as a trick.  I doubt they will: WPG run D has proven surprisingly good, why not use the VAJ-attack instead?  They know they want to...

Heck, if BA37 is now too old & slow to Dequoy-it, throw Hallett in there for half the game as the roving deep FS.  See if he has the speed to get to deep receivers.

SHEEESH!!!!

Ya, don't read anything into DNP and civvies.  Means nothing on a MOS team.  Any guy DNP or 1-gamed can magically be back come Friday.  I'd say 75% of the time the guys that are "maybe nicked up" dress anyhow.

Don't forget, we have to give our vets their vet days off ::)  ::)  ::)  heaven forbid we stress that every that can should practice.  ::)  ::)  ::)  Can't set that precedent.   :P  :P  :P :o

My guess is Schoen & Nichols will be fine.  Brady clearly can play but if it's a nagging type thing why rush it?  We screwed that up playing him in week 1.  So far our run game stinks, and Johnny can run the stink just as good as Brady can.

Quote from: TecnoGenius on June 18, 2024, 04:12:21 AMYa, 2-4 days off, then 15 mins of practice and off to Sev for slurpees.  That seems to be the M.O. these days...

I kid... or do I?  Someone needs to light some fires under their collective butts!  A little grief might help them.

The Boo Birds raining down early and often if they get behind in the first quarter.  That  will wake up some in the stadium, but will it be the be the right ones?

The fans are restless and I have a feeling they will be relentless if the Bombers lay another egg at home.

Headed to practice today, hopefully BO20 is with the first team today. Fayad will be another I want to get a look at. Very short TC for him.

This one is going to be ugly and is going to have to turn into a high scoring affair.  I just don't see our D being able to stop VA consistently.  BC will be putting up some points on every drive, hope more fgs than TDs.  The question will be can the O keep up.

Man, I don't think BC has looked that good.

The best way to limit adams is to win the time of possession, hard to do with olivera hurt, but need to be creative

Lions have some issues of their own, but they've looked better than the Bombers in their 2 games. Bombers winning would be a bonus. At the moment I'm just hoping they look less lacklustre and play better than so far this season.

As mentioned above, limiting Lions TOP is important. Having our own running game would help that. Maybe Feltmate having a couple more practises will help run blocking. Augustine didn't look very good but he was being hit in the backfield.

We need Oliveria back but that's a TBD even if he's listed as " DNP" this week.

Adding more short routes, swings and maybe a mix of Streveler in some series not a bad idea. Get away from the predictable, simplified offence.

They have played two tough teams.

They are likely going to make mincemeat out of the Bombers if they come out like they did the last two games

BC is going to be fired up to prove a point I fear.

Yeah, I wasn't comparing the two teams, simply saying that BC hasn't looked like the unstoppable juggernaut that some people are making them out to be.

Another day that Oliveria, Nichols and Schoen don't practice.  K.Wilson was limited today. Sheehan was a DNP but have no idea what was about?

We know that we could still see all these players on the AR this week, but this is not a good indication of game readiness.

More roster movement on CFL.CA but that's misleading. On paper, Hubert, Samson and Woods were added to the AR. Charbonneau gone to PR.

We might as many as 4 - 6 changes from last week.

I see Lions Cottoy and Rene have not practised yet this week.

We should start a poll or Pickems II predicting how many times Techno uses the word U.N.A.C.C.E.P.T.A.B.L.E. or how many Bombers season standing predictions Road Griller will post. After 2 games he is currently at 2 predictions - 6 and 12 and 3 and 15.

I saw mention yesterday that Castillo was doing the punting at practice and Streveler was doing the holding.

Today it was DT Devin Adams who got some reps as the punter.

It was 6-12 after week 1.

Now that I have seen all the other teams it's 3-15

IF there is a starting QB or HC change I will adjust once accordingly depending on the week.

But all things being equal it's 3-15 as it stands today.  Better QB play and better roster management will bolster the W column IMO.

There won't be a QB or HC change in the near future but we will let your 3 and 15 prediction stand and revisit it after the season.
