Injuries piling up

Everyone add their 2c as to what they saw vis a vis injuries so we can start the guessing game.  It'll be the usual MOS not-much-info in-week unless someone gets put on the 6-game quickly.

Haba: non-contact, knee issue?  Often a mid-length injury, could be season-ender, or could be nothing much at all.

Fox?  Didn't see anything at all.

Nichols: concussion?  This one will really kill us if it's long term.  Luckily they usually aren't.  Did we take him out or did the spotters?

Already out from previous game: Lawler, Brady

Who'd I miss?  On the bright side, Bighill looks fully healed.  Running with speed and pounding on the big hits.

And why are we the huge injury team early in this season?  Talk about zero luck.  I think after all week 2 games are played we'll be leading the injury race by at least double the number of players.  I can only pray that it will all equal out over the season and this means we'll be full strength for the playoffs.

Haba could easily be long term. Not sure what happened to Fox but Woods would be next up.

Nichols was probably precautionary. He played a few more series before being pulled, so I think a little woozy.

IR might get longer for a few weeks so we need to bring some bodies into the PR. Our late TC cuts come to mind first. I'd be looking for an import RB if Oliveria is going to be out for longer.

We've had pretty amazing run of injury luck over the last handful of seasons. We were perennially a team with the least, or one of the least, games lost to injury. Seems like we've been hit with a few more right off the top here but it's going to strike other teams too.

We're also probably the team with the most veteran players, so it's something we should expect.

Except players like Haba, Fox, Parker, Garbutt, Kelly and Lawson are the ones getting injured. Lawler's injury was a bit of a freak thing. Oliveria hurt himself in training off season.

Coaching choices decided to not let some veterans get as many reps in TC or pre season. In theory a good idea, in practice it's debatable.  Game speed and conditioning for veterans takes longer.

Amazing performance along the D-line after Haba and Fox were knocked out, kudos to Willie, Jake, Schmek and Adams for playing almost the entire game.

Should be plenty of player movement this week, replacement bodies will have to be brought in.

If Oakman is healthy, Walters should be on the horn with his agent today.

Totally agree, they had to be dead tired.

My question would be, if he is healthy, why did Tor cut him?  And why hasn't someone else scooped him up/

The bigger question is are Haba and Fox going to the 6 game.  Haba's injury looked like that kind of ligament tear, no idea what ails Fox.  Hubert, Samson and Woods are all on the PR, we've kept them around for a reason, and this is it...

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Not much left on our PR. We already lost Lawson and Garbutt. We might have lost Fox and Haba long term. That leaves us with Woods, and the two Canadians Hubert and Samson. Oakman would also be my first choice. Mason Bennett if he's still out there, or maybe Kongbo.

We also need to address our return game.

I would think Haba is either a torn cartilage or a torn ACL in his knee. The torn or partial tear of the cartilage would be the best case scenario for returning in a few weeks after a scope. (speaking from experience unfortunately on both issues)

Thank you, I had already forgotten about Parker and Lawson (extremely important pieces), and the sophomores.

Man, you just made me twice as depressed!  No wonder we can't beat OTT.
