Wonder how long a deal Sankey penned with MTL...

And Lemon was dinged, wonder if he is OK... I think I saw him on the sidelines after, but no helmet...

Those guys have been huge for Mtl.

Both of those two were valuable additions to the Als roster. I have suggested early in the season we consider adding them and most posters weren't interested. They may not have wanted to come here or SMS may have been too high. We'll never really know.

Another issue is how would we have gotten them on the roster. Sankey might have pushed Clement to the 1 game IR. We didn't really have an import DL as a DI so Lemon would have been a problem getting him onto the AR.

As later season signings I think both would have been 1 year contracts.

O'Shea said, after the game, he wouldn't count AB04 out for the Grey Cup.  You would think he would not make that statement if it actually was the Achilles.

To be fair O'Shea made that statement immediately after the game, so he had no report on the extent of the injury.  OTOH Bighill and his teammates actions certainly suggested the injury was season ending.

Ok. Questions going into the Grey Cup

1. Maybe, just maybe we get Schoen back but at best he hasn't played for some time now.
2. I don't think McCrae saw the field yesterday.

So if neither can actually play, do we add another receiver off the PR? If so that would suggest Ambles.

3. If Bighill can't play would seems probable. Who do we add and at what position?

Maruo could be added as the only other LB potentially available but we could just add another DE or DT?

I don't think there were any other injuries yesterday.

With only a week left that seems most probable. OTOH if it's less serious than an achilles we see him back in 2024. IMO he could / should see a reduced role and could be a perfect choice as a Nationalized American choice. Perhaps more direct coaching work on the sidelines but he already does that.

Not sure they use Briggs as a LB much anymore, but he can still back up and play in an emergency.  With Gauthier back and the help of Wilson, Cole and Clements they should be able to cover for Bighill's absence without adding Mauro.

CK67 was injured late in the game. Not sure if he returned to the game or not.

Kolankowski did return.

In Eli's one play at centre, Collaros took a "sack" on a hook slide.

you could tell that Demski, Mcrae, and bailey were injured in the wf. We didn't see any runs by a receiver, really limited our playbook, Ambles has been used in that role, so wouldn't be surprised to see him in the grey cup

Ducky

I never even noticed McRae on the field.

I didn't either.

I think we should be quite fine with Cole and Gauthier replacing Bighill.

Cole is a baller.  We will miss the experience and leadership from Bighill.  He is the qb of that defence and leads them from his position.   We were fortunate that we had a halftime to adjust to his injury.  The whole team looked lost the plays after he got hurt (I suspect the whole team knew he was done for the game)

As much as I love Bighill, our D should be capable of keeping Mtl to 20 points without him. What I want is our offense to be as full strength as possible.  Bighill will still make valuable contributions in the film room and on the sideline. I have no doubt of that.
