I thought it was on #16 Jake Kelly or #3 Hansen  Okay I texted the Coach's show and he said no.

It wasn't Hansen.  I listed all the white guys I confirmed elsewhere on the field.  I forgot about Kelly: makes perfect sense if it's him.  Makes me wonder where Briggs was, though?  Is he even seeing the field much lately?

The Coach said "no" to what... to there being an IB?  So he saw the whole film and it was a legit block / falling down?  Sometimes MOS lies to ensure he doesn't throw anyone under the bus, however I don't see how telling us there was an IB could throw anyone under the bus.

Good- sellout crowd for a meaningless game in late October
-Dru Brown looking like he's ready to start
        -Olivera of course
-defensive line owning the Elks O line
        - appeared to get through game injury free
Bad-kick return TD
      -smell coming from Regina
     -weak halftime show
Ugly-Bombers taking a misconduct penalty [that's what our opponents do, not us]
      -

Halftime shows are usually weak here.  We aint Vancouver money here being community owned.  Though the Darcy Oake show that one game was cool.  I ignore them now.

I'm worried about losing Dru, but I hope we don't.  He does look ready to start and I'd love him to be the successor to Zach in a few years, but not sure it's right to ask him to wait that long.

Brown could start for Ottawa right now and should be given the chance and I hope he gets it

Masoli is extended through the 2024 season, so they would have to make a decision on his future if they signed Brown, maybe cut him before a bonus is due.  I don't think he received any guaranteed money as that didn't really start until the past off-season.

Ottawa would be out of their minds to bank on masoli after two total washout seasons. Dru brown will have a couple suitors I think. Would not put it past the madman in Edmonton to go after him.

Ya, the magic show was awesome, and my son loved it.  The second best was the military rappellers.  I also like the dogs.  Can't go wrong with dogs.

And the T-shirt dancing "plant" guy mid-season.  That was funny and entertaining.  (Though not a halftime show.)

But hey don't bash the last show as it was just school kids, and they're doing their best!  It's important they get chances to publicly perform.

Ya you'd think.  But surely Masoli can't have another achilles or ACL.  Surely!  I said it last year, I'll say it again this year.  OTT will need a strong backup plan, though, if they do roll with Masoli.

If Dru leaves us, I wouldn't be against us picking up a cheaper Masoli as #2...

Ottawa can?t keep gambling on a oft injured qb for a starter anymore (Nichols, masoli) so they will be going after somebody if the GM has any brains.

To be fair to Burke, I don't think anyone anticipated Masoli suffering a non-contact injury when he was re-signed. Not sure I'd qualify that move as a gamble on the GM's part.

You don't give Dru starters money when you have captured lightning in a bottle with Ford.

Ottawa, maybe, although I think Strev might get a look there.  MTL might also look, and depending on Mitchells retirement, Ham might be in the market.

Just not sure any team can offer Dru a full starting salary, which would make WPG the optimal spot for him to continue.

Lightning in a bottle is a BIG stretch. He ended up going 2-5 down the stretch and 0-4 in their final 4 games. He's a great athlete but he's not a very good quarterback. He can't play from the pocket and I doubt he's their long term solution.

Dru brown will not get starters money, it would likely be a scenario such as BC where 2 qbs are getting less than most starters, with incentives built in based on performance. In fact if a team like Edmonton, or ottawa look to Dane Evans BC might look at Brown as well. im not sure what our cap would allow for backup qb but liklely less than 200k based on what we are paying Zac

According to 3DN Dru Brown was the CFL's 15th highest paid QB in 2023.

Hard money: $82,000
Maximum value: $97,000

https://3downnation.com/2023/04/17/the-cfls-15-highest-paid-quarterbacks-for-2023-season/

Interesting that a vet backup like Matthew Schiltz is only earning

Hard money: $125,000
Maximum value: $205,000

If Dru wants to sign as a backup anywhere, that is the kind of money he's probably looking at.

I honestly don't think there are any teams ready to shove their starting QB aside to make room for Brown as their starter, even Sask. will probably stick with Trevor Harris as they are invested in him.  Ottawa may be the only team were he has a leg on a higher salary but they could also be considering Schiltz or Dane Evans as more seasoned solutions.

dd

I d take Brown over Schiltz anyday. The guys been around for what 4-5 years and done nothing. Brown has way more upside and shown this year he can overcome a 22 point deficit when everyone had written his team off. It's a shame we didn't use him more, he deserves a shot when you look around the league and look at all the other schmucks that have been given the opportunity.

Pete

likely dru would be similar to nick Arbuckle as well
Nick Arbuckle, Ottawa Redblacks (A)

Hard money: $130,000
Maximum value: $229,000

bombers might be able to afford Brown in that the only way he'd likely make the maximum is if Collaris got hurt for a number of games.
