Brady equal dynamic is every way!

Zach has had to many fumbles and picks this year so far.

Collaros. Maybe we can do a poll

Ya, should have been a poll.

I pick Brady, and I'm not sure it's even close.  But Zach is amazing and easily #2 MOP after Brady in the West.

Zach Vs Kelly, it all depends what their criteria is.  If it's yards and stats and TDs then clearly Zach is better.  If it's wins, and winning tough final-drive games, then it's Kelly.  There were at least 2 losses where Zach could have put the team on his shoulders and pulled out a win, but didn't.  Kelly did.

VAJ is out of contention, IMHO.  If we have something to play for and Brady destroys EDM like he should, then he clinches it.  Zach would have to do something like beat Dunnigan's 1-game 700Y record to catch up, IMHO.

As well as Willy for MODP again, he's still racking up the knockdowns and disrupting the pocket with pressure even if he's not getting the sacks.  Can't just hand it to an upstart like Holm or an unknown (around the league) like Nichols.

Holm could get the rookie award, though if Betts is a rookie that might be tough.  Willie hasn't been as dominant, with him taking a ton of games "off" this season.  I don't see him winning much of anything.  Biggie could be our team D pick for MODP.  Or even Walker.

Probably just me but I find all this talk distracting. We won awards last year and lost the cup. Unless we win the cup I don't care about awards. It just fires up the other team. Look! We belong too. I'd be much happier if Chad Kelly wins it and the Bombers got mad about that and used it in the game. All supposing that is the Grey Cup  match up of course.

I'm not sure how much it fires up the other team as I think the awards are given out the day before the GC?  That's not much time to stew and seethe.  Unless your name is Simoni, of course.

In any event, I don't see us winning anywhere near the number we did last year.  Maybe we get half what we did, and half as many all-stars.

No, Neither is eligible.

Holm is in his second year and Betts is in his 4th (5th if you could the covid year).

The awards are always Thursday night and the Cup Sunday evening. I can't remember which cup it was now but there was a team that used it as motivation in the past, felt they got snubbed. This year, imagine if it is Collaros vs Kelly. The "loser" is gonna want to make a point.

Collaros has had a mostly solid season but he's had a few lousy games and his turnover ratio has increased since returning from injury in early August. Don't get me wrong, though: he's still a top tier QB and a crucial asset to this team.

But Oliveira has been the team's MOP in 2023.

Sir Blue and Gold

Brady is awesome but I would still put Collaros as MOP and Oliveira as MOC.

Without Collaros, teams load the box and Oliveira doesn't have the success he has. He's fantastic, but Zach is the primary reason we win football games.  It's a lot closer than anyone would have thought to start the year though.

?Zach Collaros (is our Most Outstanding Player). Brady is a close second, absolutely,? Mike O?Shea told 680 CJOB before suggesting it was unfair to ask him who the team?s M.O.P. should be. ?Brady does everything for us and Zach does everything, also. His leadership skills are phenomenal and he gets everyone involved. He?s steely.?

MOS beat me to it, but I was coming on here to say definitively that the Bombers are going to nominate Zach when the time comes. Recent comments from Tait and Irving really suggested it and MOS here makes it all but official.

Then we will lose to Kelly.  I think Brady has a better chance vs Kelly because there's more of a novelty and more media buzz if a RB wins it instead of the usual QB.  And they'll be loathe to give it to Zach for the Xth time in a row.  Kelly got the hard wins and the comeback wins and the should-win wins.  Zach (et al) blew 3 (the 4th is a legit loss).

If we want to win the league award we must put up Brady as the MOP.

highly unlikely. Brady easily loses to Jim Kelly?s nephew. Zach has a better fighting chance due to the QB narrative. Unfortunate.

Brandon Pasta has a better chance to beat Kelly than Collaros.  Collaros has been really sloppy with the ball this season and nearly lost us the game last week...especially with that terrible decision to try and throw it on that second fumble.  Just terrible decision-making.  A veteran should know better.

Brandon put up 150+ yards this past week, receiving and running.  He is just shy of 2,000 yards.  A good final 2 games would likely see him finish with more than 2200 combined yards - more than Jon Cornish in his MOP season of 2013.

Kelly's numbers aren't really all that impressive.  21 TDs, barely 3500 yards, throws his fair share of picks.  Meanwhile Brandon is Canadian and it's high time a Canadian was MOP again in the Canadian Football League.

Plus Brandon saves dogs while Kelly scowls on the sidelines.  C'mon who would you rather pick?

Well if that will be the final criteria then both Brady and Zach would lose.  You're right that that would generate the most south-of-the-border buzz and help sell the CFL.  And it would solve the "Zach wins it again" problem.  Unfortunately.

Even Zach's big stats vs top teams TOR/BC probably won't be enough to push him over the edge, and the game vs EDM, if we have to play it hard, won't count for much as it's a gimmee.

Haha, now that I think about it, maybe TOR sitting Kelly vs us just ensured he wins MOP.  If Zach and Kelly had played each other in earnest, the result of that game could have been the final tie breaker for MOP.  By not playing, Kelly gets to stand on his wins against weaker teams, and his record not be tarnished by a loss vs the likely GC rivals, and the 2nd strongest team.

Collaros looked pretty good when we wiped out the Lions 50 - 14. Also when we defeated the Riders 51 - 6 and threw for 5 TD's. Was that the game where we scored on every possession until the last 20 seconds?

When he gets good protection from the OL, he's a world beater.  Do you really want to complain about a few more turnovers in 2023 due to some issues elsewhere on the team?
