It appears that Chase Claypool is on the outs in Chicago. I don't know if any CFL team has him on their neg list but if noone does the Bombers should absolutely put him on their neg list. The guy is a 6ft4 National and is only 25 years old.He likely wouldn't come to the CFL this season but next season could be a possibility. He would be a ratio breaker.

You think we can fit him in under the cap?  He would probably be in the top 3 paid CFL receivers, no?  We already have Demski and Wolitarsky as ratio breakers, and Schoen, Lawler and Bailey...  not an area I think we can/need to spend cash on.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

I can't see him coming back up North unless he completely falls off a cliff.
He hasn't played great, but Chicago is still looking to get a 5th/6th round pick for him. He's just on a team that can't throw the ball at the moment.

headcase...diva when there is no validation for him to be a diva - few good games and that is it.  He would be too proud to dare play in the CFL.

Might be a little harsh to call him a headcase...
He had his good year catching passes from Big Ben, and since then has been stuck with very shakey QB situations.
I think it's reasonable for him to get a little disinterested at that point.

Blue In BC

Not a fit in Winnipeg and would be too expensive. Besides our receivers are top level.

I believe he was put on the Lions neg list not long after he was drafted by the Steelers in 2020. Not sure if he?s still on there.

Not just me calling him that...I have been a Steelers fan since the late Bradshaw days

Just google claypool and headcase...the guy is all about himself...no team mentality in that guy

Zero chance that Claypool comes to the CFL. Yea, he is not worth his current contract and is a bit of a headache but the guy is a legit NFL receiver that will get many opportunities to improve his attitude. His earnings probably will take a hit until he demonstrates a better work ethic and attitude but teams will roll the dice on him for a while yet. Similar complaints circulated about numerous receivers that went onto long careers after they got their heads straight. Ochocinco, Moss, and many others were headcases. They turned the corner because they were given enough rope to do so.
Some people take this forum way too seriously.

You're not the only one saying this about him. I would just like to reserve this title for the true NFL crazy people like Antonio Brown.
He is immature and maybe a diva, but headcase insinuates that something is wrong with his brain. I don't think that's fair.

dd

To be fair, being a diva is almost a pre-requisite of being a wide receiver in the nfl!! They?re all headcases these days

Even if Claypool considered the CFL it would likely be the Lions first on his mind. He could replace a player like Cottoy in a heartbeat IMHO.

Sir Blue and Gold

Claypool thinks he's too big for the NFL. I'm pretty sure the CFL doesn't have a dressing room big enough for him even if he was the only player on the team.
