If you put DL22 at SAM, what do you do with Kramdi?  How do you start 8 Nats to circumvent the fake nat issue? Kramdi is doing just fine at SAM, IMHO

I can't see MOS replacing Kramdi anytime soon, unless he is injured.

Isn't Lawrence one of the slowest of the DBs?  Is it better to have bigger at SAM, or faster?  Might not Holm make a superb SAM?  Seems to have a nice balance of traits.  But ya, let's try #22 at SAM, what do we have to lose, eh?

SAM is still a LB position that has to help shut down the run, think Mo Leggett.  Holm is a high skill player but at 182 lbs. he's not built to take on AJ Ouellette stomping through a hole.

From what I saw yesterday, Gauthier, Darby, and Grant will be back soon. Hansen has been working out for weeks and seems to be finally ready. This will be a big boost to our teams and D. The question marks are around JJ94. If we get though the next two games I would shut him down till the playoffs.

Garbutt is a guy I like at practice. Very good size, strength, and speed, and has a big motor.

KD52 is our new DE and looks very quick to the ball yesterday. The man also has a big wing span.

SAM linebackers are more or less half backs in the CFL these days. They have usually have second level run responsibilities like any other member of the secondary.

Can't find a great highlight package for Deng but the play he makes at 1:02 of the following video shows great mobility and pursuit, he is #8 playing MLB.

The same way we did when Darby was starting. The question is what import comes off the roster if we activate Lawrence. The 2nd question would be whether Lawrence would be better than Kramdi, switching from CB. The fact he was starting a CB suggests he can cover receivers.

I've lost track about when Gauthier and Darby were moved to the 6 game IR. If they''re practising this week that would suggest they could come off the IR after this week?

OTOH Grant could off on at any time if he's healthy. He'd be a player that could qualify as being removed early ( extended on 6 game IR ). He's missed 9 games I believe.

What any of those choices does with musical chairs with the AR roster is a TBD and possibly based with new injuries.

I am not an expert with roster management, but if Gauthier was healthy, he could in theory take off Clements and B/U at LB therefore enabling an import to go on the roster, such as Haba with the Jeffs.

Hanson would bump Mauro once healthy.

Grant would bump Parker when healthy as a returner.

With that we still have two import positions in Cole and Jackson who "could" be also changed out, say we wanted Fox or Garbut or Deng on the roster one of them could come off.

Or as an example we could use Gray or Eli as FB (in Jackson's spot) like what Hammy did and then insert an extra American on the roster. We would still have two back-up O-line (unless if we designate one a FB could they still play O-line if an injury forced it?) plus Thomas so unless two or three linemen go down we could afford to have one of Gray or Eli be a FB and short yardage player, couldn't we?

I am just trying to figure out how to get the best possible D-line on the field we can.

If hansen can play sit cole, and haba can go in.

Not quite sure what you're thinking. You can't take one player off the roster and add two? I think in theory you can add a 3rd global player to the roster. However that would be at the expense of an import which effectively makes one of the global players a DI. Keep in mind our punter is a global and he has to stay on the roster.

Maruo will go out if Hansen is in.  Haba could go in if Cole, Clement or Jackson comes off the AR. It doesn't look like Jeffcoat won't be dressing unless they just choose to rest him further. No idea what the plan is exactly.

Gauthier is a bit of a wild card if he dresses. He'd replace Schmekl ( ratio wise ) but would create the chance that allows a DI switch like Haba for one of the LB's.

Hansen goes in for Marou, we have Clements at backup lb. Cole comes out cause Hansen can go on special.teams. Haba goes in for di instead of cole

I think one of the reasons they might be sticking with Kramdi is to build more Natl. flexibility on D for the future.  Say Jake, Briggs or Gauthier retires after this season, they would still have the option of starting 2 Natls. in Kramdi and Lawson.  Unless they get Ford back, there are not many Natls. currently on the roster that could graduate to a starting job on D.  Looking at other rosters this is an area the Bombers have fallen behind, probably due to Hall's preference for Imports and O'Shea's obsession with LB type Natls. that can realistically only contribute on ST's.

That's a lot of ifs in that statement. We don't know who might retire or who we might acquire in free agency. It's not even clear whether Kramdi is under contract for 2024 yet.

I suspect we see Kornelson back in TC for 2024. Whether he can make the roster in any form is all a TBD.

Having more flexibility on defence with our nationals is a great idea. The Nationalized American might come into play as another factor though.

There is a benefit realized by the team that uses Fake Nats the least, is there not?

Hoping this guy works out, as his name will be superb for wordplay.  "Deng, he's good!" etc
