They coach that way. They want players to play like that. That's why they are penalized so much. Problem is they don't have talent.  Monctief and Robertson and a few others were doing it all game. Wasn't one play. They were playing tough after the whistle. The coaches teach them that
I agree. I have lost all respect for that organization. I thought they were a community based team who?s community was founded on honour and dignity. The community must be embarrassed by the likes of dukes williams , Marino and now this clown Robertson. Common thread is open mouth breathing inbread dickenson ismtheirmhead coach and condones this. What a classless group of misfits and degenerates

That goon doesn't even where pads. That's how much hitting goes on. All he does is wrestle with people all game. What a goon athlete. Someone should chop block him. That could end his career. It's only a 15 yard penalty. Or the Bombers could put their helmet right on his knees. Hopefully break his knee caps.

Your post is all true except for the first sentence. I can?t think of headbutting someone and not trying to injure them?

When I said "trying to injure" I meant  premeditatedly going for someone's knees, or striking a blow to the head of a player.

Yes, a headbutt would fit into that criteria.  But I don't think it was premeditated, but rather a reaction to something.  I don't think he was trying to take Collaros out of the game, he just chose a player that a headbutt could do that to.

If he threw a punch (less malicious than a head butt, which is one of the most cowardly moves you could do), would you say the same thing? He was just reacting to something and didn?t actually mean to hurt him??

I wonder if the reason the cfl announced the suspension so quickly is that if Roberson appeals they can hold the appeal prior to the banjo bowl game? although the way the riders are talking they want to use it as motivation as a show of  support for Roberson in the next game

Absolutely horrifying to see a Rider player once again blatantly target a QB with nintent to injure. Disgusting that this is the same team that effectively ended Masoli's career with a similar dirty, blatant cheap shot. Shameful to see the league respond with a mere slap on the wrist. I'm betting Wade Miller and Mike O'Shea will have plenty more to say on this matter and I look forward to hearing it. If I were O'Shea, I'd refuse to ever shake hands with Craig Dickenson, a coach that repeatedly puts players on the field that intend to injure other players. If Dickenson had any integrity he'd hold his players to a higher standard and make them accountable instead of making excuses for them and trying to downplay their egregious actions. The fact that he doesn't tells me all I need to know about Craig Dickenson. I'm surprised he still has a job.
Go Bombers!

You can?t use the word integrity and Craig dickenson in the same sentence.

Heat butts are used in most players celebrations.. not excusing the action, but it is different than a punch.  It takes a lot less to head butt than punch.  It was a reaction, not a premeditated attack.  Doesn't lessen the danger, but it is a reason why they have Murder 1, Murder 2, and manslaughter...  this was manslaughter, or maybe murder 2, but definitely not murder one.

Still should be more than a one game...

I get what you are saying aards, I really do.

In boxing one can hit away with fair punches, but a head butt is not allowed.  Granted no helmets, and in boxing it can immediately make a cut.

But a head butt is not innocuous like you are insinuating.  It is very violent.  I mean, player safety specifically singles out hits to the head.  That includes slaps during a play when someone happens to hit the qb n the head while trying to get to the ball.  That can be a major foul.

A clear head butt which is well after the play is over, after Zach has already relaxed after the play is over - that is intentional.

It is at least the equivalent of a sucker punch.

Very cowardly.

It was exactly a sucker punch and should draw an automatic game ejection.

You see a lot of ?jawing? between plays where guys are getting in each others grills. These should be called misconduct fouls and 2 of those and you?re out of the game. But this was far far more than someone getting in your grill. This was a violent, recoil and follow through head butt and he should have been thrown out of the game for rough play.

Of course our three blind mice, or in this case 7 blind mice, between all of them never saw the foul. The head ref is supposed to stay with the Qb after the throw to ensure nothing like this gets missed. Guess he was ball hawking and took his eyes off his assignment. You bet he ll year snout this from the league

Have you ever seen an appeal be held within a one week time frame? The league has had years to have a quick resolution to an arbitration but it always takes too much time. The CFLPA shouldn't even allow an appeal IMO.
Take no prisoners

It was a blatant attempt to remove a star player and difference maker from the game. The intent was to injure and there's no room for it in our game. Extremely disappointed with the league's refusal to protect arguably the best player in the game. Disgusted actually.
Go Bombers!

Tiger

It was intentional . Clearly

It was after the ball was gone - for some time

It was on a Quarterback whom the league says they want to protect and often refs call penalties on the most minor actions

It was on the MOP.

Premeditated?  How do we know it was or was not? Robertson?s word as a gentleman?

Clearly intention.

As noted above head butts are often more serious with more dangerous outcomes than punches.

So a 1 game suspension.

People applauded Bomber players for not reacting.

What have I learned?

As a lineman you should grab the offending players face mask and throw him like a rag doll because the league for some reason does not take this seriously.

As f  po r dirty hits any sport I think the offender should be at least suspended without pay as long as the other player is hurt/out and then some.  People would think about their actions.

Meanwhile back your programming where an arm tap during the tackle of a running and diving QB gets you 15.

It is ridiculous.

Then the Rider players saying they support him? Whatever ?
