Not exactly. We have a Canadian player ( Burtenshaw ) designated as a FB that doesn't see reps at FB. He's barely been on the roster. We use an import roster spot for a player deemed better qualified as a FB.

I'm not sure whether Burtenshaw has a future in the CFL. Time will tell but if he can't contribute on ST's at the very least, then his days are numbered. I thought we might activate Kelly because he's fast and could fill that role.

Noting that Burtenshaw is in his 2nd year as a Bomber.

With Gauthier gone to 6 game IR and Briggs nicked, our rotation players on defence are even thinner.

Burtenshaw may have been surpassed by Cadwallader and Beeksma but as long as he's a good foot-soldier O'Shea will probably reserve a ST spot for him, with the retirement of Miller and Briggs on the horizon.

No LBs on the PR, but Beeksma and Clements could return from the IR very soon.

Just saw Ambrosie standing outside the Sask Signature Hotel.  I waved, he was nice enough to wave back at me and the kids driving by.

Smoke not too bad today, so that's good.  Smoke was horrible last night.  Hazy looking at buildings just 200 yards away.  Way way better today.  I don't see how you cancel this game as it's basically the biggest game of the regular season (yes, even more than BB because Mosaic is bigger and more WPG comes to Mosaic than SSK to IGF).  Not like it would be any better tomorrow, should they try to postpone... though maybe making up the game in WPG on BB day might be what they would do?  In any event, you can't do it, there's too much money involved.

Go blue!  On paper we should totally clean up this game.  Worst case is a close battle, and I can live with a close loss.  Staying healthy is also paramount.  Go blue!

Looking at the SSK depth chart I'm thinking Dickerson The Lesser will have to be very creative to have a shot at winning.  Might we see some special sets with Pipkin in as QB for 1st & 10 plays?  He's a "running QB" so they might try to mess with our plans.

I also expect ST trickery, like that other-side fakeout, or similar.  I bet Alford magically gets the treacle off his feet just for this week.  He's looked like a sloth so far this season.

On D they will try to trick Zach into the same INTs he's been throwing, but that opens them up to attack over the top.  They have a tough problem in deciding whether to double-cover Kenny or Demski.  Most teams cover Kenny, but it's Demski who usually makes SSK pay the most.

Expect SSK D to play super hard-nosed and on-the-edge smashmouth.  Our D should do the same to make them pay for any pain dished out.
