I am appreciating Begelton more and more as this game goes on
Amazing player

The Zipp

Some questionable play calls on that Calgary drive and of course Leake takes one back...

Pete

Another example of Dickenson out thinking himself, poor playcalling there and then a quick snap on that punt resulting in terrible coverage

The Zipp

Argos smell blood in the water now.

When it?s grind it out and kill the game, Harris sits on the sideline waving and begging to be subbed in for AJ. His day as the go to back are long over.

Just started watching this game.  I do believe this is AH33's first TD as a Argo??  If I'm right(?) it sure took him long enough.  1.5 seasons.  If I'm wrong, he can't have had more than 2 now.  They love Oullette and I think keep AH around more for mentoring, depth, and morale/peptalks.

Good for Andrew, I'm still a huge fan and await his retirement and celebration here @IGF.

I'll eat bird on Carey.  Hurt again and numbers are poor
.  I like him but I think it was tecno that was right.

Weird, I was just thinking back to my Carey comments from a few weeks ago too.   ;D ;D  Mea Crow-lpa accepted  :D :D

Carey was very good a few years ago, but post-injury he's just normal.  Good, but nothing special.  And there are a lot of current and waiting-in-the-wings "good" IMP RBs.  Therefore no reason to pay him massive $$ for "normal" production.  Even worse if he's going to be in the tub all the time.  You can get Carey type production out of a NAT... or hire AH33 for $125k.  CGY will dump him in FA.  Mills is better and way cheaper.

I'm just starting the 2nd Q and Bellamy doesn't look like the answer either... He gets his big chance to be the speed guy and he botches the screens.  I bet he's thinking "this worked so easily in practice!", but in live ball people bump him and he can't recover fast enough.  I guess I'll soon see if Dickie keeps giving him chances in this game or if they go to an all-Mills scheme.  For sure you don't throw that screen to him again!!

Stamps also have Peyton Logan on the 6 game, he's an extremely dynamic runner.

Well that's embarrassing, at 2Q5:53 when they are carting Amos off (with what might be a season-ender and GC implications) the cart runs out of batteries!  Driver is telling another dude, pointing to the gauge.  He has 2 guys sneakily push the cart off the field.  Nice recovery guys!  Still, not a good look for the league.  No one checks the day before to make sure this stuff is ready?

I guess eh?. Reminds me of when modano got crushed and they brought the stretcher out only to dump him off the stretcher!!

Big penalty for TO to setup the 6.

That FG penalty is the brand new rule for 2023 where you can't overload a side on the FG.  I think that rule was put in place precisely because of what TOR did to our final kick in the GC.  Fitting that the first time it's called this season(?) is against TOR... Their STC didn't get the memo...

Duane Forde: "not only illegal, but not pleasing aesthetically."  ahhahahah nice quip Forde!  :D :D :D

The Hakuvanhu (never gonna spell that right, must be related to Lirim) TD after the misaligned-FG penalty: TOR 42 and 9 should be ashamed of themselves for the half-hearted tag-football non-attempts at tackles.  I thought for sure with 3 guys bearing down on the WR that he's going to be tackled.  But those TOR guys just tap him and say "go ahead get the TD, I'll let someone else try to tackle you".  42 and 9 are Stiggers and Metchie, BTW.

2 more TOR guys come in and actually make a real attempt, but to no avail.  Best play I've ever see from Haku, and he has some acceleration!

I wonder if watching your team mate Amos be carted off the field for 10 minutes 5 mins ago gets in your head and you start avoid the piles so your ankle isn't the next one to be obliterated... What did Bo Jackson use to say about football?  You need that mindset to keep playing hard when it could be you next.

TOR DC ain't gonna be kind to those 2 in film study...

Paredes making things happen...too bad they couldn't get the ball

That was awesome!!  That's a darn good idea!  Coach up and practice with the K/P to go for the ball-whack on the outside arm.  The K is supposed to take outside position anyhow to force the returner back in.  So instead of just being a pylon on the outside like they usually are, have them make a whack at the ball while doing what they're doing anyhow.  I love it, and Boudreau should get right on it!

Interesting DNA roster ideas for CGY in this game, doing stuff I haven't seen before.  They put Begelton as the DNA with SB/WRs Tucker, Middlemost and Haku as the DNSs.  So Begelton technically doesn't "start", they give it to noobie Allen who clearly would never start over Begelton.

So most of the game Begelton plays instead of Allen, and Begelton can come in for any of the NAT guys.  From the little bit I've been following, it looks like Middlemost is the guy being pulled for Begel.  Though they are getting really creative with some sets with Begel, Tucker and Haku on the strong side at the same time.

I just saw the Tucker TD drop... oh my .... you need to catch that ball!!  Our NATs far > than CGY NATs that's for sure.  Ah, now Begel just got the big TD on the free play!  Go CGY!  Hahaha, no idea who to root for as having either/both teams lose would make me happy and help the Bombers.

I'm so glad this CGY team didn't show up when we played them last week!  So far it looks more like busts by TOR though.  They're attacking Amos' vacant spot.  There's no mercy in football.
