I'm at the Piggy fumble... I think it's the same Piggy problem as when he was here: it seems to me that Piggy doesn't realize he's not in college anymore.  He doesn't take the CFL or opponent D's seriously.  I'm not sure why.  Surely he should have learned by now that this is legit football, and he needs to be picture perfect or pay the price, and he has a lot to learn?

His fumble was an embarrassingly bad play for a "running QB", a shameful way to secure the ball.  It's really too bad, as on that RPO I was dying to see Piggy throw it on a wire.

Or he just fumbled the ball - there doesn't need to be a big thought process of him not taking the CFL seriously.  You have no idea what his thoughts are. He is a pure rookie - they make mistakes.

Geez the CFL has terrible coaches. This weekends games were no fundamental gems.  That piggy guy must be somebody?s friend.

Ya, but he's made the same "mistakes" 5(?) times now?  It's like half of his (reg season) snaps are mistakes.  He seems to have a great something, but also has an equal amount of anti-something, and nothing in between.  It's not just the usual "rookie mistakes".  I think there's more to it, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him without a job offer in the off season.

Well that was disgusting for us OTT pickers.

It reminds me of when we faced Crum, and, to a lesser extent, Ford,  Caleb's a running QB, not the best passer, it's 3rd and extremely short.  There's a >50% chance he's going to run it in, especially with good coverage.  OTT did put a spy, but he wasn't a speed guy.  He was a NAT WILL.  Repeat after me DCs: a running QB is going to run every time read 1 & 2 are bad.  Yes, that's what they do.

In that situation I'm putting 2 spies and having the DEs ignore pass rush for contain.  Everyone else does cover 0.  If you're going to lose, make him make a read, get a pass off, and have the receiver complete the pass.  You're making him do 3 things right.  Instead they let him jog in when every fan knew it was >50% chance he's running it himself.

If I'm an OTT fan in the stands I can live with losing it to a great read and pass, but I would lose my mind losing it to a running QB doing running QB things.  Sad sad.

On the upside, the game had far more going on and far more TDs than our snoozefest win.  On the downside, OTT dominated all game (need to see final stats) but botched my pickem right at the end.  Whither a rouge?

Oh ya, OTT and MTL both with their backup QBs are extremely evenly and well matched.  It's that type of parity that makes for a fun game, even if both times kind of suck.

I think the difference was MTL wanted it just a little bit more, and made the little extra effort, on all 3 phases.  OTT got a bit complacent and went prevent too soon.

Ottawa loses. Kind of karma in how they beat the Bombers.  They had a chance to gain ground on 2nd in the East. Now they may be fighting off a crossover team.

Becoming a pattern there? Dyce doesn't have the shut down team to play this way. When he beat us it was balls to the wall football.  Almost like conservative, conventional football gives them time to think. They are at their best going all out. I say let the dogs run.

Desjar back in.

I expect Caleb to revert to suckage form in this game.  Caleb vs Crum... this ought to be a barn burner... not.  The CFL is in a bit of a sad state right now.

MTL with Stanback and a great run game vs the CFL's #1 (still?) run-D.  Both teams' O's are filled to the brim with rookies and sophomore WR/SBs, and zero of them look threatening (minus sometimes-rookie-sensation Mack I guess).  Acklin is the "oldster" of the group?

Like South Park said, it's like having to pick between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.  I'm picking OTT because I think they'll put in extra effort at home, they are the more-desperate team, and Crum might be over his 3rd/4th game slump and getting his second wind.

That's my theory, anyway, and I'm sticking to it!  :o
actually turned out to be a miracle comeback for Caleb....why are you so quick to diss other QBs and teams.    We will be playing them next and Montreal beat us last year spoiling our unbeaten record.   We barely eked out a win and were extremely lucky to beat a 3-6 Calgary team.   We also lost to Ottawa who had what, one win at the time.
The Bombers are quite beatable despite our 8-2 record....FYI I picked Montreal to win this game and they perhaps had one of those last minute miracle finishes....it was still a more exciting game than our last game against the Stamps which was a real dog....
Normally I enjoy your posts however sometimes you tend to be a tad disrespectful towards other teams and players.....just sayin....peace bro

if only we had a QB like Pigrome
The decision on Pigrome was the right one based on the situation at the time.  I am happy his is getting reps but the crowd that is being over critical of the club for bringing on Prukop is a little over the top.

Meh. He should have been tackled for a loss there, going off script.
Showed good excitability there.  Agree.

Well said - I agree with your comments - Montreal will play the Bombers tough. And if the same Bomber team shows up that played here in Calgary this week I certainly can see a Montreal victory. Hope not but need to see a better Bomber team on the field that want I saw this week here in Calgary.

Crum is popped in the end zone.  Guy took a beating that series

I thought the spotter should have pulled him after that obvious head hit, and his dazed reaction after...

Agreed - he was not "present" - his team was surrounding him and he was clearly dazed and confused.  A couple of plays before he was slammed to the ground and got up walking like a 54 year old guy who just did some strenuous yard work (me, I am talking about me) - had that hunch like "man haven't felt that muscle for a long time"

Mtrl had a great come back. It was actually not a bad game to watch. I am surprised by Crum, he could turn into a legit starter. Mtrl has two really mobile Qb's and well we struggle against that so.........

Well said, including the last statement. I would add the post didn't age well either.
