i still think he will practice during the closed practice and MOS won't say whether he is playing until gameday.  Making Calgary even do a minute more of prep is worth not saying until the last possible second needed.

Not sure there is much of a difference game planning against Brown as Collaros... they seem very similar..

Inexperienced QBs usually make more mistakes and so defenses will usually bring more pressure to force quick decisions. You will also see defenses roll out more formations against less experienced QBs to see if they can read them. Against a guy like Collaros, teams will often blitz less and rely on the coverages they can execute the best, even if is a little less variety overall.

Pretty sure Brown showed vet poise and confidence, and possibly better ability to avoid blitzes that Zach.

Let them bring the blitz...

They'd play mostly zone against Dru and a mix for Zach.  Zone + pressure + "new" QBs = INTs.  EDM played virtually all zone against Dru, usually with 2 safeties.  Didn't work for them, hahaha.

I'm fine with resting Zach until he's 100%.  No point risking anything against the basement teams.  Dru is good enough to win many/most.  However, if we drop 1 or 2 games because Dru/no-Zach, it'll be hard to be there for 1st in W come the final week.  But then again, whatever team is in 3rd will be the cakewalk of the century, so who cares if we play in a WSF?

Since it'll probably go down to the wire I don't think either WPG or BC will get any "garbage season" games, and we'll have to play hard all the way into the post-season.
Never go full Rider!

Like which team is going to play at the Bombers, Lions and Argos level?

Sure on any given Sunday, but the rest of the teams are pretty bad, and the only way The top three lose is if they take someone lightly.  The league is pretty bad..

Ridiculous to think that Brown has the game smarts as Zach on any play reading the D.
I think Brown is good, but he's no vet.
I also think Brown is a much better scrambler.

He doesn't need to practice to play. If he clears medically on Thurs, MOS will send him in.
My wife is amazing!

I hope ZC's injury is minor and that he saddles up for the next game. But I also want to know what Elks did to rattle him into such a wonky start in that game, capped by such a stupid throw in the play where he got hurt. Someone said Bombers prob would've lost vs Elks if ZC played the whole game. There were similarities vs Elks with ZC at the helm and the poor offensive showing in BC loss. Someone has ZCs number - maybe it's as simple as you rattle him early and he gets happy feet.
Just gimme the rock.

Day 2 of Bombers practice. Same same for Zach Collaros. Rocking tights and a t-shirts and not participating in drills

LB Brian Cole is back practicing after having the day off yesterday.

OK, if Zach isn?t even in sweats and taking scout team reps that to me equates to not playing. This weekend.

Game smarts?  We do not know.  The only thing we do know is that Collaros has a lot more experience than Brown.

In the last game, Collaros made a lot of questionable plays and reads, culminating the the play that led to a pick six and his injury.

Brown came in an played a near perfect game.  His reads were clean, he threw well.

Zach - 2/5 for 6 yards and an INT.  Dru 17/24 for 307, 4td and 1 int.

Dru was reading the D's, hitting open receivers, scrambling when necessary and effectively, including his 5 yard run.

Am I saying to ditch Zach and go forward with Dru?   I'm just saying, three years in, Dru is not your typical backup QB.  He has had Zach and Buck as mentors, when he came in in relief  last game and last year even, the team did not miss a beat.  Never heard any concerns about "a new cadence" like I have heard when other backups go in.

I do not think there is a team with a better QB room that we have, from coach down to SY guy.  Not a cumulative total, that's a given.  But at each and every level, I think we have the best.  Starter, Backup, SY and Coach.  2 out of 4 would be very good, 3 out of 4 insane... 4 out of 4, well, 'nuff said.

Zach wasn't feeling it the first quarter...he is human - I have no doubt we still win that game with ZC as QB - Edmonton is that bad.  Dru was hitting on everything - next time he plays he could toss 3 INT's...it happens.

I still think MOS is using every opportunity to play mind games with Dave D and the Stamps.  We won't know who is starting QB until gameday as practice is closed tomorrow.

The only concern I would have about Zach's injury is if we saw someone like Josh Jones added to the PR or AR.  The last QB cut (toher than Pigrome, but he isn't available), he would be the sensible add.

I didn't know anything about him, so.. thanks Google...

Athletic, big arm, coachable, accurate, and even-keeled. "

If that is true, I guess we know why he was in camp this year...

There are a lot of young men that can play QB. Also many who can?t read a defense.  I think our guys can provide what we need. Short passes coupled with a good running game, and a defense that plays. Quarters 2,3 and 4. All things being equal the Bombers with Dru, win.

Who else do we have that formerly played QB in Their H.S. Days. Or college? If we need a third guy, who is it?
