I am not sure why so many are surprised at DB6 performance. Anytime DB6 has had the opportunity to play, he has played well. I am sure a few teams will take a run at him in FA.

Coming into the game down by 22 points on the road is not the same as what he'd had to do in the past. He played for about 40 minutes in a game that was important in the standings etc.

I don't know. Last year when he came in against Hamilton and lead us to a win, you could see this kid had some talent and had control of the O. 1.5 years late I expected him to go out there and play well and put up points. It was going to be up to the D to stop there O, and give him the chance to bring us back. And, that's what he did.

This game is going to need its own moniker like we gave the MTL Miracle game... any suggestions?

Right there with you. I was flabbergasted in the preseason when people were trying to put Pigrome ahead of him.

Never said he didn't have some talent. I just said any QB coming back from being down by 22 points has his work cut out for him.

And, with the help of some good D he did it.

yeah, that come back was a team effort but Brown looked like he belonged. Stopping their run was the key. When I saw the Bombers had done that in the 2nd half I said they won't score again. They did of course get that one td on our blitz but Brown still didn't fold.  I don't mind saying I'm surprised. His accuracy, reading the defense and his cool factor were all first class. If I thought he was this good I would have said so sooner. It's by far his best game here.

Yes, he knew what he was doing. Read the defence and made accurate throws in tight coverage. He looked like a very seasoned veteran.

Piggy who?

2nd time Brown has come in in relief and won the game.  He's just a gamer.

Prukop did his job perfectly, Brown stepped up Big Time, and Buck playcalled effectively.  The Oline gave him time, receivers/RB's blocked, guys made catches, it was a team effort.

But Dru proved himself.  If Collaros never plays another game (I'm not saying that disparagingly, but hypothetically), we will be fine.  He will, however be back, and no one will question our QB corps as being the best in the league, bar none.

He's had 2 years and a great mentor and coach... he's more veteran than most backups today, and many starters.

Fact: Brown doesn't have the whole playbook.  Maybe 50%.  Fact: Brown is maybe half the QB Zach is.  50% of 50% is 25%.

Might want to retract that "fact"... He was playing with the full playbook, didn't see much difference between him and Zac... other than execution and quicker feet.

Bomber Diehard

A good time to see if Brown can handle the QB  position again as well as he did last night.

Proof that the 'multiple' works
The Making of a Playbook

The key, as Pierce has said often, is for the Blue Bombers attack to be 'multiple' - meaning they want to be as difficult a matchup for opposing defences as possible and have a number of methods to attack.

"We have guys who can handle quite a bit," said Pierce. "When I'm looking at players one of the keys is, can the guy do multiple things? If a player is limited, that affects everyone else on the offence. If a quarterback can only throw certain things, that limits you. You might be really talented at the receiver position, but that limits what you can run because the quarterback can't run those things. We're very lucky here."

Haha Chris Jones threw Ford under the bus!!  What a DB, and I don't mean defensive back!

around 1:40

"he missed a pull there on the last play"

That's the ride & decide Ford gave it to Brown for when he would have probably been wide open for 15+ yards had he pulled it.  Then they'd get a TD and have a slim shot at winning with an OSK.

I said at the time Ford's eyes after that play screamed anger that he was told to hand it to Brown.  I thought the OC didn't give him a choice.  That's still my guess.  However, just after that his eyes turn to restrained tears, so maybe it was his fault and Jones is right.  We'll never know because Ford won't call his coach a liar.  You watch it and make your own guess.

Jones did it again right after saying Ford should have dived for the 1st down in the play just prior so they weren't left with 3rd & 2.  Jones is correct, but again, the HC shouldn't be picking apart the QB in the postgame like that.

My main point is not who is to blame, it's that Jones publicly placed the blame on Ford.  MOS wouldn't have done that.

What a statement by dru brown! Never saw that coming. He slid in seamlessly taking over. Zach going down also seemed to wake the bombers up too as they seemed to have low intensity before then.

I missed some of the game with all the posts but also enjoyed it.  I don't rewatch. Thanks for the info let me know how much the spy was used and who it was.  I think an occasional spy is best. Using the spy too much makes you venerable and I think we mixed it up well.

You're missing out pj.  Rewatching all games is always helpful, but it's especially fun in our 2nd best comeback game in a decade.  If you missed some of the plays then you definitely need to rewatch!
