Good for Ford.  I hope he does ok, but not until after we trounce them.

Everyone wants to say it but is afraid to say it but still says it anyway: absolutely cannot be the team that EDM breaks their sad streak on.

Excited to see Ford.  He will be under too much pressure here to show what he can do.  He needs 3 games to see how he can preform.

what gets me is Jones didnt think he was good enough to be in their top 3 earlier ..now hes starting

He said he didn't look as good as last year and he needed to show more in practice.

Pete

more like the other qbs didn't show anything in actual games

mobile QBs tend to be the ones we struggle against, so Ford starting against us gives them the best chance.

Sir Blue and Gold

Should probably be fine but I wish we weren't playing them the first game back after these changes. They will probably find the energy to give it one last push before they get beat down again and Tre Ford can't play sustainability good football but he's athletic enough to run around a chuck the ball downfield and occasionally it's going to work. Hopefully not against us.

Cornelius was quite adept at running and was their leading rusher in some games.....he wasn't easy t9 take down either being a big dude.    Ford may be more elusive as a runner and we haven't seen a lot of film on him either.   The Elks are in desperation mode at 0-8 plus not winning a home game since 2019 which is truly appalling!    Their D is adequate enough to keep them close and we'll see if Ford under a new OC can spark their offence.

We should win this one however the Bombers likely won't fall into the trap of looking past them either as desperate teams with really nothing to lose can be dangerous.    The Elks looked pretty good in the first half against us at home, and then they imploded and we won fairly decisively.

Who on this forum predicted the Stamps beating the Argos?   I'm still picking us to win in Edmonton however it will be interesting how Ford will do....,

Tre Ford only has 69 pass attempts and 40 completions back in 2022. He was in C.Jones doghouse earlier so I'm surprised he will start ahead of Doege.

QBs: Jones is throwing everything against the wall to see what will stick. It's the only explanation. We'll see how much fire Edm comes back with after their bye week. If its not much then Jones should be done because it's just not turning around.

From Derek Taylor

First day of Bombers practice before Elks: Abu Daramy-Swaray is out early catching punts. Bombers need someone to reliably fill in for Janarion Grant.

In what will be pleasing to a number of Bombers fans, I?d bet we see Miles Fox on the roster for Thursday.
Bombers have gone with only 6 DL for the last couple of games.

DB Desmond Lawrence is practicing again. Injured in the Week 3 game vs BC.
After five games on IL a player can practice without coming off 6-game.

On this, Miles Fox could come on in place of FB Damian Jackson. Getting a returner on as well would be much trickier.

Most of our DBs are getting healthy. Like to keep them all around, but is that possible?

Our return game is lacking. Really need someone to step up.

Ford is a slippery QB with a fairly good arm. If we pressure him, I am sure he will make some mistakes.

The only way we lose this game is, turnovers and bad penalties.

I think we heard that McCrae came out of the game nicked so he could be a candidate for short term IR. That leaves an opening for ADS or Parker as possible returners.

Good to hear Lawrence is back returning but I don't think he'll be added to the AR again until we have another injury at DB. That's not a slight against him but our DB's are rounding out quite well. Yes we could see one of our PR DL get added for this game.  Either Jackson or Darby could be removed.

I see that the Elks have a few players on 6 game IR that might make this weeks game .Gainey, Lewis and a few others if they choose. It's now or never to add better players if they are healthy.
