Very much agree with the last 2 posts.
I do have a feeling Zach will light up the Lions with 300+ passing yards, 3 TDs.  Lawler & the boys are going to have a big game.
Brady is going to finish.

Yes, nothing wrong with DS83, one bad drop this year, it happens to every receiver at some time. He has also been battling a hip injury and missed the 2nd. half of the Edmonton game.

29 catches, 473 yards, 2 TDs, 16.3 Avg. Longest 36 yards.

With KL back, teams can no longer afford double coverage on DS83.

With Lawler back we have 3 of the top guys in the league and Bailey is solid too. Things should open up for everyone but there is only one football so stats for individuals may be a tad lower than they could have been. Still, I think this group and Colloras is the scariest in the league.

Pass protection has been pretty lousy so far in 2023.

Ya, teams realize our QB+R are best-in-league.  So the smart ones attack what they can, which is our strangely-now-middling OL.  I bet they spend all their gameplan time on DL and blitz schemes because it's the only attack that will pay off.

So maybe in the end it's not so much that our OL is a lot worse, it's that teams are spending all of their energy on beating it.  I wonder if teams are blitzing us more this season... that would be on stat that would confirm this theory.  Another would be how we fare against teams with best-in-class DLs (notably DEs) vs best-in-class DBs.  So far our only 2 losses are to teams with mega-stout DLs (esp DEs).

Agree on BC being one of those two teams.....not sure about Ottawa though and we haven't played the Argos yet who haven't lost a game.    In that Ottawa game we were in cruise control right up until that pick six which was an ill-timed and ill-conceived play, giving Ottawa ALL the momentum and eventually forcing OT.   I agree that the way to beat our offence is to pressure Zach ALL the time which is what BC did even with a 3 man rush.   This year Zach hasn't been nearly as effective rolling out of the pocket as in past seasons.   Not sure why that is because he typically thrives on this and targets his receivers on broken routes, especially Schoen.   Having Lawler back will help give him one more option and I'm hoping we get our running game going with that extra fullback in there (Jackson) for his blocking prowess.    If we can run early and control the line of scrimmage (a tall order) then we open things up for the Bomber air attack....that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Keep in mind this was the 1st game where we had Lawler back. That's a significant talent added to our offence and will continue to give defences nightmares.

They need to double-team him otherwise he will eat alive whoever DB is on him. And that should open up at least one of the other starters.

our receivers are all great, nothing to see here

For me, little cracks are developing on the OL.  We have to improve there.  On offence everything developes from there, running and passing.  Can not let lesser teams think that they can beat us.

It's not that we dont have the personnel to improve it. We actually do. The question is if (or when) O'Shea going to make the change.

we lose tonight and changes will come, bet on it.

Have you watched O'Shea? This game isn't gonna keep him from staying with his vets. You only have to look at our team from year to year. I'm not saying its necessarily a great thing, but he does stay the course.

Nothing wrong with year #2 for DS83. The kids is as tough as they get.
