This has all the makings of a trap game...

But for which team!  :D :D

Still early in the week but barring any setback/injuries I'm thinking these will be the in/out on the lineup

In: WIL Wilson, DB Rose, FB Burtenshaw and one of DT Fox / DE Garbutt
Out: SB Schoen, DB Swaray, FB/LS Jackson and LB Beeksma

Wilson starts at WIL
Rose starts on field-side corner to replace Daramy-Swaray
I'm leaning on DT Fox to support the run D but if DE Garbut is a quick-study like Haba, I think he draws in instead
McCrae starts at Schoen's spot and handle kickoff return also
Parker handles punt return

BC's defence is dominant. I can't remember any CFL team pitching 2 shutouts in the same season.

Their O has taken a big step backwards with Evans at QB, but it's still good enough to win games.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I circled it on the Calendar when BC dominated us the first time.

Win this game and we go back to first in the West, 2nd overall. Lose and we're 4 points out of first place & BC has the season series, so it might as well be 5 points.

Depends on how much is the score differential.
If it's 25 and up then we are first. Otherwise, we still run as second in the West.
Remember they beat us 30-6 the first time around.

If we lose this game, then the road to the Grey Cup goes to BC.

We are coming off a bye week - well rested.
We have injured regulars returning.
We are playing at home.
We have a shot at first place.

Not underestimating the Lions.  They are a good team.  I do like what what we have in our favour for the August 3 game.

Ya, but both against the hapless EDM, so does it count??  :D  No team in recent history has been as bad.  They have a legit shot at not winning a single game all season.  Doubt it, sure, but it could happen.

They are weaker than last season, they just don't know it yet.  VAJ and Evans are miles below Rourke.  Miles.  What they have is massive confidence, kind of like TOR.  They're feeding off the confidence and morale.

I wonder how much Couture moving over is helping them.  They really had our OL's number in that first game.  I wonder if Couture spilled all our tricks and signals and Buck didn't do enough to remix them.  Strangely enough, our only 2 losses this season have come from teams that hired one of our OL this year (Couture and Desjar)...

Seriously, besides Couture, they've only lost talent this year, not gained.  No more Burnham is like losing 2 top-3 receivers.

I credit BC's coaching as it has proven superb, crafty and superior.  We'll need to similarly step up our coaching and calling to get the job done.

Lincoln Locomotive

The key to Dane Evans is to make him uncomfortable in the pocket as he doesn't have the mobility of a VAJ.    If we can get him rattled he isn't very effective.   If not he can rack up big yardage with those receivers he has.    Also we know how good their Defense is and they've pitched a few shouts including keeping us to 3 points.zach and Buck need to come up big in this game.

It's going to be a stiff test for the home team on Thursday.

Offense has to settle in early and put up some majors. Defense should be fired up considering they know how to contain Evans.

Big game!

From TrueBlueForever on that other site: 1965 - Toronto is shut out twice, and the Bombers blank two opponents in the span of 3 games.

Whatever we do, we've got to give Betts the treatment. Every play we've got to chip him, double team him, run away from him, roll out the other way, etc. Make him run, run, run and then have receivers come in, etc. Obviously the offense needs to be on the field to do that. But we've got a good chance if we can work him over by the start of the 4th.

Bryant and Hardrick should be amped up for this game and well rested.  Starts and stops with the o-line IMO - protection for Zach and getting BO rolling.

Taking DWS out of the lineup seems unreasonable.  Yes, he's a rookie with the least experience.  But he has some amazing stats, even though QB's try to "pick on him'.

Yes, Rose comes back in, but not sure who goes out.  Might even be from the other side of the ball... more defensive players to rotate in and keep fresh may be important.

Sure - except he's basically beat every tackle he's played against so far this year including ours. We can't just leave him one-on-one and drop back and expect things to go well. The Bombers sometimes have that mentality that they expect to win all the matchups but this is not one of those cases.
