The guy I think that would be an interesting choice once he's off the injury list is Desmond Lawrence at 6.0 ft and 201 lbs with cover abilities.

If Darby is 100% I don't see why he doesn't have SAM locked.  I guess you could try Lawrence there, but it's not roster friendly.  I think we're lucky to have a good NAT backup for SAM.  I don't think you want to start him more than a few games, but he does in a pinch, and he'll learn from his mistakes.

I never like the idea of starting 8 NATs, though.

I believe the Bombers defence will do better against Evans. The Bombers always seem to have trouble against Vernon Adams even when he was in Montreal.

I agree Evans is less of a challenge than Adams to me.

I am more concerned about our OL Vs there DL than anything.

The Elks will need more than positive vibes from Bomber fans to defeat the Lions....they will need a miracle!   That being said I'm praying for one!!

Did they 1 game or 6 game VAJ?  If 6 game, I bet he's out longer than 2 weeks.  If they GTD him on Aug 3 I bet it's a ruse and he doesn't start.  Why would you risk rushing back your #1, post-season-hopes guy with an iffy knee?  The injury looked pretty nasty on camera.  Rhymes may be out for a while, too.  Hatcher and Hollins have been looking weaker this season.  Was Cottoy banged up too?

The game won't be critical for them as they can always win the series @BC later in the season.

Whether Evans or VAJ I think our team will have a few surprises for BC.  Might Wilson or Hansen be back?  Rose?  We've watched how TOR beat them.  With both Evans and VAJ it is possible to turn them into "bad Evans" / "bad VAJ".  And one other word: Kenny.

He was shown on local TV yesterday running in practice. I don't think they moved him to either IR roster last week.

BTW I also think Lawrence would be a good fit at SAM. The issue is we don't know if Darby is injured and able to start and we don't know when or if Lawrence will practice. He'll be roster friendly if Darby is moved to IR for example.

I can't really say that Kramdi earned the starting role. He was the default setting as the back up. Perhaps the coaches feel he did earn the start but that's not something we can be certain.

The one thing about Evans is he's not as mobile outside the pocket albeit he has the ability to get rid of the ball quickly.    He has great receivers and the BC defence is solid as well.    At this point I'd be ecstatic with a one point W and of course I'd prefer if we beat them decisively to make up for the embarrassing loss against them.

Our hope is that they are looking ahead to us. They rest Adams this week but I expect it is so he will be ready Aug 3. They win that and 1st place is looking likely. So maybe they don't have great focus this week? Still, I can't pick Edm's streak to end, not while Jones is there. Can't happen.

Oh I wasn't implying Kramdi beat out Darby for the spot!  Darby must be nicked.  If we are starting Kramdi over a healthy Darby on purpose, then we have major problems!  I (and probably The Mafia) have full faith in Kramdi as next-man-up.  But I don't think anyone wants him starting like 6 games in a row.  And then you have the problem of who's dressed to back him up.

EDM won 4 games in 2022.  They are arguably better (on paper) in 2023.  If they are to win 4 games this season, they must win every 4-5 games (on average).  That means they are overdue.

They cannot lose them all.  I would expect them to win at least 5 this season.  No idea how, but on paper they should.  Once you subtract the 1-2 they will be allowed to win in "garbage season", they still have to earn 3-4 real wins.

Weird.  Strange he'd just fall off the radar.  Nagging unsolvable injuries?  What was he again?  MLB?  SAM?  I'm sure if The Mafia liked him and had him on the radar they already looked into it.
