they\ve released the week 5 pff rankings and Jeffcoat was the top dl .  I don\t know how good these rankings are..How can Harris be the top ranked qb for the week when they only scored 12 'points and win by a bonehead mixup on a st,?.  If you asked Harris about his game I bet the first thing he'd say is we didn't put the ball in the endzone enough

Jeffcoat had a whale of a game. I can see that. As for Harris, he has been named a CFL performer of the week. That blows my mind. He was absolutely useless for almost the entirety of that game save one drive. I guess one drive a week gets you performer of the week now?
Some people take this forum way too seriously.

The league has to throw the Sask. fanbase a bone occasionally, other than this one small award, they don't have much to be happy about as the Elks gift wrapped that victory for them.

Still think the Elks are rated too high... and definitely the Riders are.  Sure, they never ask how, but rather how many.  3-1 record is far and away complimentary to their actual play.  Almost losing at home to the Elks except for a brain fart rouge should not earn them 4th when the Elks are far and away in last...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Elks have disappointed me this year more than any other team in recent memory.  Such amazing talent and yet zero gel.  That falls to the coaches and the culture.  I guess they have no clue what they are doing.

I bet Eugene isn't even injured: he's probably just like "screw this taco stand".  Change my mind!

Such a waste.
Never go full Rider!

Other than Lewis, what amazing talent do the elks have!?!?

DB
Purifoy
Gainey
Grymes

DL
Ceresna
Leonard

LB
Konar
Morgan

OL
at least half of them are very good / vet

RB
Brown (dynamic RB lit up the league late last year)

WR (strongest position group)
Dunbar (one of the top fantasy picks in 2022)
Mitchell (insane rookie in 2022)
Moore (meh, but decent vet)
Lewis (1st or 2nd best SB in the CFL)

The only weak spots are maybe DT and half their DBs, and the most glaring huge problem: QB.  I feel really let down by Corney and the entire coaching staff.

I'm not sure that is enough talent at the right places, but even so, I thought they'd be a bit better. Tonight is basically the season for them (which is why I think they'll win, combined with Hamilton being pretty bad).

If Edmonton loses tonight, they will be 0-6 and their next three games are: @Winnipeg, vs BC, vs Winnipeg. That's the fast track to 0-9 and basically an unsalvageable situation.

Anything could change but I don't see them making the playoffs this year. I also don't think they are the worst team in the league, as Hamilton and Ottawa are also in really rough shape.
I would say Edmonton is in a very similar spot to Hamilton. Disappointing QB play, talent on defence but GLARING missing pieces, top end talent at the skill positions...
I can't see it being a very tough battle to make the playoffs this year for the other 6 teams, but we'll see!
