Particularly Physical game here!

Lots of key players on both sides limping around.
I LOSHT MY MEMBER IN AN UNFORTUNATE SHMELTING ACCSHIDENT!

Dequoy has great range, he reminds me of Loffler except faster.  The Als have a lot of nice pieces in place, if they can hold this team together for another year or two they might become contenders, if they can upgrade their QB.

plus he is nearly the only one who can tackle in the open field.

What did antwi just do there and why??
I didn't appreciate what happened on this play live as I'm focused on data entry at BC Place.

Re-watching the game now and it appeared as though Antwi tried to punt and recover for a first down.

It was 2-16 from the M40. If the ball is kicked across the LOS and recovered, it is a first down whether or not yards were gained.

Antwi tapped the ball with his foot but it fell behind the LOS which is scored as a fumble. He just needed to kick the ball another yard or two.

Heads up play (well coached) and something that I've been waiting for years to see executed properly. Still waiting.

Does the ball have to be kicked behind the actual or original LOS? If a team started at the 40, but took 2 penalties and got backed up, so now on the 20 facing 2nd & 30, does the kick need to be behind the 20 yardline? And if the kick is behind the 20 and only travels a few yards, but gets recovered on the 25 - that would earn a 1st down?  That seems crazy.

I totally don't doubt you for a second, but if that's the actual rule...I vote it should be changed. Makes no sense.

High risk play for sure...but looking forward to seeing it done to perfection - just not against us...

Entertaining game.
I hated the PI call on the pick 6.
BC's RB runs 60+ yards to seal the deal, but gets the ball punched out on the one.
Fajardo isn't anywhere near as bad as Bomber fans make him out to be.

If Bombers fans make him out to be bad, Riders fans are even worse!

2nd and 30 from the 20

If the ball is kicked from behind the LOS (20) and recovered at the 25 it is a 1st down.

In game at full speed, it is difficult for players to execute this type of play.

He seemed to change his mind last second, I'm guessing he sensed the presence of opposing players was too great.  Would have been a highlight reel play had he executed it.

I just enjoy watching him struggle whenever he's played the Bombers since the 2019 playoffs. ;D

I think you're right, I vaguely remember someone executing that play 4 or 5 years ago, I can't recall if they succeeded or not.  I thought he was attempting a rugby kick downfield for his own team to recover, but in that case I think only players lined up behind him would be eligible to recover the ball.  It would be like a surprise punt to change field position.

theaardvark

The kicker is always "on side" so its legal for him to recover the ball untouched by the D...

Early goings, but Dequoy has looked good in nearly every game he's been in.  Mafia probably has their eye on on him when/if BA retires.  Probably have to line up behind every other team, though.  If BA retires and Fatboi retires, Dequoy lets us run an all-IMP DL.

We usually go for the sleeper future-stars (i.e. cheap).  But we can dream.
