Ah, it must be nice to be an E team.  Weaker opponents, less opponents, and locking up 1st with 5-6 weeks to spare.  That's why I look at TOR's record with a big grain of salt.

I still think WPG, as the caught-in-the-middle team should alternate divisions: odd years, west; even years, east.  Until the 10th team arrives.  After all, how many years did we spend in the E?  Not like it would be something new.

Or, they could come up with a way to have the best 6 teams make the playoffs, with one team potentially moving to the other division...

Why not?  It makes more sense to always have one division 4 teams the other 5?  How is that fair?  It's just as arbitrary.

We were an East team for a long time.  No reason we can't be again.

Can you imagine if we had been in the East since 2016?  We'd have probably made the GC every single year.

Part of the reason the E is weaker is because they don't need to try as hard.  Unless the division is completely horrid (i.e. crossover), only 1 team has to not make the playoffs.

If you don't like every year, then make it 2 years in W, 2 in E.  If you don't like that, make it 3, or 4 or 5.  Whatever.  The CFL has already been doing that where N=10 or 15 or so, or whatever the timespan is between when OTT folds and then reforms and then folds...

I personally would love to see the shake-up us sometimes being in the E would cause.  One thing's for sure, you'd see a lot more WPG v SSK GCs.

Toronto game is basically sold out. They are still selling singles and obstructed seats. But that's it.

I wonder how the game against Edmonton will do attendance wise. The game might be important....

No it doesn't. The NHL didn't always have eight teams in each division. The NFL has had different numbers of teams in different divisions. There's nothing the least bit weird about it.

What's weird is putting a team from WESTERN Canada in an EASTERN division. When there were only eight teams, there wasn't much choice, but there sure is now. The only logical way Winnipeg goes back to the eastern division is if the 10th CFL team is from Saskatoon.

We're smack dab in the center of Canada.  We're not any more Western or Eastern.  Sure, MB is considered "western Canada" politically, as ONT likes to think of itself as the "center of the universe", but there's no law that says the CFL has to use that definition.  Indeed: you proved the point with your Saskatoon example, as "western" would mean absolutely nothing in that case.

If "Western" really meant so much then when the CFL was 8 teams they could have stuck with 5 in W and 3 in E.

I don't know why anyone here would be against the idea, it almost certainly would help the Bombers, and it would provide more TSN talking points and stir-the-pot in general, which always adds to the TV entertainment value.

Are you being sincere on that? I have a hunch you already know the reasons why. Anyways, I can summarize it in one simple statement: We don't like it.

Our rivalries are in the west and those are easier sells for the Bombers. That's what it comes down to. The bucks. Can't blame them for that though.

In the past the bombers got "consideration" from the league for switching divisions but I can't seem to recall what that was now. I remember Sask being being up in arms about it.
