The Bombers understand their fans. Any one game isn't indicative of anything and isn't really the major influence. Season ticket holders are the main consideration concerning the home game schedule.

They know if they were to move every game to Friday or Saturday there would be people who would cancel immediately. They also know not everyone likes the Thursday games as much.

It's a balance. The idea is to make sure that there are enough free weekends (Thursday games) for cottage season ticket holders who either won't mind missing a game or two or will stay in the city another day to attend the game here or there. On the other hand, it's not possible for the league to have them play every Thursday in the summer and they know it's not the preferred date of a lot of people who don't get out of town regularly in the summer.

Keep things balanced and neither group is excluded to the point of cancelling their season's tickets.

I would challenge that if we had games on Saturdays during the summer, the numbers would look a lot like Thursdays.

Fridays are perfect because you don?t have to base your entire weekend around the Bomber game. In summer, there are plenty of other things to do besides just the cabin too. A beach day for example becomes way less easy if you have to get to a game, especially if you have kiddos

GOM offers their employees up to 20 days off without pay (optional) now but the employee chooses the dates, subject to management approval.

This was my point. A couple more weekend games the entire year would be even.

Yup, CFL is trying something new.  Folks need to let this play out to see how it works for attendance and TV viewer #s.

The league schedules games from Thurs-Sun.

Looks like Thursday games are getting on CBS...  maybe that was part of the reason... and later in the season, scheduling against the NFL... people will already be used to Thursday Night CFL ball...

The Cottage excuse was thrown in the trash based on yesterdays crowd. Nuff said.

We drove in for the game from the lake, many many many people don't. I know, I talk to them.

I would bet we do not see 4 Thursday games next year. Max 3 hopefully only 2.
Friday's numbers prove out that no matter where you drive from, more
fans show up on a Friday vs a Thursday.
