TV numbers are rising because they started in the toilet.

I think for casuals, it takes a few weeks for them to realize the season is starting and to begin tuning in with any regularity.
Good point

28.5k last game on Thursday and over 30k last night.  Puts the argument to bed at least short term about the small crowds.  Have to see how the season numbers come out, other teams attendance and the TV numbers.

I think it was 30.5 or 30.7, which is absolutely astounding for Thursday.  So much for the Thursday sucks theory!  My section was pretty busy, and it's usually pretty dead.  I knew the instant I got into the tailgate that it was going to be a big crowd.

Whatever WFC did to draw more & new people out, it's working!!

Great numbers for a Thursday and actually a perfect scenario given it?s right before a long weekend so entirely possible if that game was tonight instead (Friday) the crowd could have been smaller. If not a long weekend though and I think this game would have been a sell out if played on the Friday.

I believe you are right. Heavy traffic to the lake this morning. Good call by the schedule makers.

Yup.  Funny how the anti Thursday crowd is a wee bit silent now.  Guess they are busy cooking birds.

I saw Wade moving around the doors between the tailgate and stadium entrance.  He looked extremely happy.  Haha, he probably got the night's sale numbers report just then  ;D ;D ;D

Money money money!

We still have far too many and, long weekends aside, it doesn?t change the extra challenges Thursday games bring to most people.

What a turd of a comment.
My wife is amazing!

The major challenge to a Thursday game for me (who doesn't need to drink myself stupid at the game and need a day off after) is that it conflicts with a poker game I like.

I guess attendance is fine on Thursday, wonder what concessions are like, with people needing to work the next day...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Based on the people around me on Thursday, and their trips for beer/etc..., I think work was very far from their minds in most cases.

People complained that Thursdays would not draw and then they did.  They also dismissed the lake / camping crowd factor.  Just having a little fun here with a friendly razz.  Every year the schedule changes. I am not sure it's proven that Thursdays sell the most  but they certainly have been strong as of late.  Have to see the full year's attendance to see what worked best.  Everyone has their preferences and are entitled to their opinion but nothing wrong with a little friendly banter along the way.  I will even eat some bird because last Thursday game I wasn't expecting a good turn out (drew 28.5k) nor did I this week but we are just killing it all ways.

One factor we don't get to see.  We have talked about attendance and TV numbers but consession sales numbers would be really nice to see!

The other factor is the opponent and I would love to see an analysis of how that factors in.  East vs. West, strong vs. Weak teams.  I assume long term Sask. draws the most by a strong margin.  Obviously weather plays a big role.  Rain and the cold being the biggest factors.  Need a stats geek to deliver the goods.

Concessions are a part of revenue, but are they a considerable part of the game day revenue?  How many people spend as much money on concessions as they do on their tickets?  I guess with $10 beer and $35 tickets, you can get there, but with $150 tickets and $5 pop, its harder...

Good point.  Really hard to say how the total game break down is for revenue.  When I was a binge drinker in the student section we would likely spend double the ticket price on drinks and more on snacks and meals.  Lots of interesting analysis could come from looking at the spending habits of the average consumer.  My current group likely is still spending on average the 1 to 2x the ticket price a game.  We sit upper deck.  I've been sober for over 5 year but my crew drinks average to heavy at times.  I was buying the concession food more in the past they had those deals a few years ago.

Not being quiet at all but for the pro Thursday fans, perhaps we have a first place showdown, a 100k 50/50 start, and a long weekend where the cabin crowd still gets their 3 nights away for every Thursday summer game
and we will fill the stadium.
As I have said before a couple Thursdays okay and hats off to the Bombers for making this one work.
All the stars aligned for this game to have a good crowd.
I'd rather be a Bomber than a .....
