For some unknown reason TOP was not reported in the game statistics.

Awesome win.  Definitive? Convincing? Compelling?

Not happy with a couple of late hits, on the TD, and going OB, or the play where Willie gets his helmet turned around... "player safety" keeps getting mentioned yet these plays get no calls.

Someone mentioned Leggs, well.. hopefully Sheahan cleans his game up...

Missing some key parts, and still took it to MTL in MTL... flushed that bad game nicely.

I also noticed some plays with an extra shove when the ball carrier was already out of bounds too...

Clearly Swaray was tested a lot and more often than not, he lost.
Disagree, young player that held up reasonably well and made some plays.  Need to learns but has talent and showing well with a few hiccups.  Too early to know but I like what I see.

He is third in the league in term of opposing receiver reception %.

I got to agree. He was teested early and often but met the challenge most of the time.He tackled well which is something not all members of the secondary can say. He also made a really nice play on Mack in the end zone saving a TD.

You make some good points
Easy to pile on the new guy but these games are essential for there development

If a QB gets more time to throw, he'll find open receivers. I'd say our coverage was close for most big throws. OTOH, not much a DB could do a couple of times. Swaray-Daramy did a good job in pulling the ball away from Mack in the end zone. A play like that is a type of 50/ 50 ball. It could have just as easily been a TD or a pick. The earlier PI on Mack was a PI IMO but those don't alwyas get called either. He's a physical DB and I like that.

So I'm not unhappy with the way our DB's played in crappy weather where footing is not great. At worst they are good depth. Not sure what the future brings when those on IR might return or for players like Mohammed on PR.

Yes, in the worst case we have shown we have decent DB depth that can hang with decent CFL starters.  Obviously they are back to PR when our main guys return (Parker, Rose).  The scouts did a decent job in that we are fielding guys who aren't The Roc.

The wimpiness of Maas/Cody is proven by the fact that I'm not sure they threw to the Nichols/Houston side even once, and if they did it was <10% of targets.  I'll check later, but I'll bet Alexander was cheating over to the strong side most plays.

Pre-season, I thought Montreal would be far and away the worst team in the league (I also expected Edmonton to make progress).

It's pretty clear that Edmonton and Ottawa are still in the basement though. Montreal is still not great, but they're not in the basement and, though I expect CoFaj to get worse as the season goes on, has a chance at finishing ahead of Hammy and Calgary.

Yes, the 4 week results are a bit puzzling vs expectations.

EDM is the big mystery.  So good on paper.  CGY would kill to have that WR roster right now.  I can't believe they are failing simply due to Corny... can they be?  Surely he's at least Maier-level mediocre??  The idea was the star receivers would make up for his inaccuracy, but so far he isn't getting much time to throw, and C.Jones now ruining his confidence by putting in Doege-coin.

I'm not writing out EDM completely just yet.  Nor am I crowning Mass/Cody in MTL.  They should soon enough play down to the level they did in SSK last season.

With BC doing better than expected, maybe it comes down to coaching and culture this early in the season.  Campbell is showing how he did the magic in OTT.  Good thing they didn't give up on him after early failures.  Their roster has quietly gotten quite good, too.  Stealing 2 of our OL stars has helped them greatly, and Sayles in the D backfield wants to stick it to us as well.

P.S. OTT is the wildcard.  I think they are a good team and will show it once Masoli is back.  I think it's TOR/OTT in the EDF.  I'd prefer to face OTT in the GC.
