another option has just popped up with Boetang being released from Hamilton. I previously said that Mason Bennet might be a good option as Hamilton was loaded with de .They decided to let go Boateng, likely his salary was a factor, unless he hasn't recovered from injury ly.

Interesting I know Boateng but not Bennet that well

Throw Long Bannatyne

Boateng has been injured since the start of last season and never played a game for the RB's or the TiCats.  Kinda sounds like Collaros!

Jeffcoat is done.  It's chronic.

There's nothing to suggest either.

I wouldn't say that...

An absolute statement like "Jeffcoat is done" is pure speculation.

Hip-related injuries can certainly be chronic but it could also be a case of his recovery not being 100% and he exacerbated it last Friday.

The information at present is lacking.

Agree 100%, some posters like to mix up their thoughts with facts

I am speaking from experience.  Both hips replaced.  At first ig feels like a groin injury,
Conservative treatment is a drug called synvisc.  They shoot it up inside the groin area..  It lasted a few hours.  Finally when I could not stand up from a full crouch, I got  both hips replaced within a year of each other.. Today 15 years later not one iota of pain.  Two other  teammates also got at least one done...Of course I don't know about what Jeffcoat problem is, One of the guys returned to play Team Handball in the Pan Am games.

You all either have had or are having chronic pain in some part of the body.

In the past I was told cortisone was bad for the bone or whatever for the knee.  These past four months I developed an inflamed bursa behind the knee. It also affected the motion of the knee.  They drained it four times, and gave me cortisone  each time.  The last one seemed to work.  Bursa seemingly fine, but still grinding a bit with the knee cap.  It's the beginning of arthritis I am told.  If it gets worse and does not respond to this treatment , it's a knee replacement.

The point being if it keeps on returning it's  chronic.  The pain is sometimes like being knifed.  If the boys are having that, it could be time to retire.

Of course, all  guys are different, as are the injuries.  As I said, I hope they  recover, but at their age, what do they have left, a couple years, and then being somewhat crippled?

Hopefully they get better ASAP.

Sure, but so is saying that ?there?s nothing to suggest either?.

We have 5/6 years of watching Jeffcoat missing 6 games a year and now he was again a part participant in training camp and couldn?t make it out of the first quarter of the season.

There?s certainly reason to question.

Yesterday's practice update indicated it was a calf issue.  Not sure it's related to his hip at all.

Good to know that it's not a hip issue, then.

Thanks for the update.

Which brings up the issue of injury disclosure, I recall prior to last season the league announced more transparency regarding injuries to better accommodate the info. requests of the gaming industry and fantasy football leagues.  Yet O'Shea has not wavered in his denial of this initiative, if anything he's even more obscure this season as half of the injured players were less than 100% healthy coming in to training camp....and we still know next to nothing about many of their injuries.

Other CFL teams don't follow this practice, if you watch enough interviews with other CFL coaches, you'll notice they quite often answer questions about injured players directly, with the latest up-to-date information and they don't pretend the information is classified or a real big secret.

Meh. Teams don't owe us anything as far as disclosing the specifics of player injuries, IMO.

I think the "more transparency" was basically going from saying "injured" or "lower body" to "ankle".  WFC does list the specific body part in their official injuries releases.  MOS usually just sticks to "lower body" in interviews, though.  So just read the official releases and ignore MOS, I guess?

The only other way they may be trying to "pull fast ones" is with the GTD AR players.  However, I'm sure the league has strict policies around those.  I would hope we're following them.

We had 2 GTD players last game I think?  Miller and someone?  Anyhow, we dressed 2 guys who were NOT on the chart anywhere: Szott and Jackson.  That's the part that worries me a bit: teams should only be allowed to dress who is on the chart.  If GTD are allowed then perhaps teams should be forced to list somewhere who will play if the GTD is out.  That way opponents can know that if Miller doesn't play they have to plan for Jackson, vs Jackson just appearing out of someone's butt.
