Our D is very good on QBs that is not a threat to run but they struggle (sometimes) on the athletic ones.

Hopefully that trend continues against Harris and the Riders....,Harris usually folds under constant pressure.    They have a strong running game and thinking they will try and establish this first to get our D on its heels.....having both JJs would be great but that's not going to happen.....Haba filled in remarkably well seeing how he had a few days practicing after signing him at the end of May!    He had an impact and made a key sack to ice the game for us late in the 4th.....impressive.
What was the consensus on Bennet's play in rotation?

Invisible???  Even if Haba could replace JJ's contribution while he's on the 6 game, it leaves them short one DE in the rotation, so they need to get this sorted out real fast. Walters should take a calculated gamble on cap spending expecting there will be cost savings from the 6-game IR, down the line.

Unrelated, Haba is an Import, I have no problem with them developing Bennett as a Natl. over time but he really doesn't help them right now.   Haba on the roster means Caleb Thomas stays on the PR for awhile, what they really need is a Natl. DE that can sub in like Kongbo did.  There's not many out there but Bombers have a lot of assets, so it may be worth making a trade.

good points....thanks for the clarification....Kongbo did that in spades for us however it seems he sees himself more as a starter than a rotational guy.....

Everything I've seen over many years shows Lemon is a smart, well-spoken, amiable, stand up kind of guy.  I think he'd be perfect!  The only questions are: can we afford him, and does he still have some gas in the tank?

In the Saturday GC 2019 show he was the only 1 of 2 people (not named Milt) to pick WPG to win, and his reasons were very intelligent: and as it turned out, 100% correct.

Our DL would be two pairs!  Lots of poker marketing possibilities there. 

The funny thing is, assuming the CFL doesn't cancel the FAKENAT nonsense pronto, I think we do better hiring an ageing DL IMP, not a NAT.  The former should be cheaper, too.  The ideal would be an ageing, cheaper IMP DT.  But a DE might work as well.

A lot could hinge on Jeffcoat's problem.  If he's back in week 2, then there's no big impetus.

We could trade for Mason Bennett this year, or get him as in FA. next season. If we trade for Mason Bennett, that might push Anthony Bennett to the PR.  He just hasn't been impressive so far in his short CFL career.

I think HAM sucking was more a function of our DL and blitz packages being stout.  We were getting through and/or pressure on at least 50% of snaps.  It was amazing.  Run D still needs some work: too many 10 yard gains, but wasn't nearly as bad as we had feared.

Bo really only sucked on the 4-5 overthrows and the 1 bad miscommunication.  If he gets half those big gains, the game might have been much closer.  But just like the last couple of years in CGY, he wasn't dialled in.

And HAM was the team that was supposed to be the unstoppable force with all the league-best personnel!!  Their DL stunk!  I think they got pressure and/or through to Zach less than 10% of snaps.  (Buck calling had a lot to do with that, but OL was amazing too.)

I think Jeffcoat's injury problem may be long-term, couldn't finish the G.C. and didn't last to the half of game #1, somethings nagging him.  If an old vet. would do, they could probably pick Charleston Hughes up for minimum wage if they thought he could help.

Jeffcoat is done.  It's chronic.
Bombers should move on and eventually will move on from Bennet.
Yes they should trade for Kongbo.  And now he could get his wish, a full-time starter.

Lemon should be acquired as well. Bombers need help on the D- line

another option has just popped up with Boetang being released from Hamilton. I previously said that Mason Bennet might be a good option as Hamilton was loaded with de .They decided to let go Boateng, likely his salary was a factor,unless he hasn't recovered from injury ly.
