Coach's show: no update on Lawler and on Grant "we'll see".   Seemed to say he'll be working with the trainer only to rehab, no cast or crutch.

My diagnoses from the stands is low grade ankle sprain, our 1-2 weeks.

My prediction: Lawler will be back after the bye.

Reasonable ...we are on a relatively short week after Ottawa (sat to Thursday) so there won't be much practice time in between those games.

No one can comment on the situation?? My prediction is he?s gone for the season.

Ya, watched the Grant thing a lot and looked mild.  Problem was, couldn't tell which ankle it was that was the problem as both got rolled on a bit.  Awkward tackle.  Grant should be ok soon.  Won't really need him vs OTT so just let him rest?

(Lawler) Could be.  The last we heard I think was "waiting on a decision".  Ya, ok, great, what if the decision comes soon and it's "NO"?  What then?

Maybe he should have plead not-guilty and strung the whole thing out so he could play another 1-2 years while the wheels of justice turn?  Dunno.  What a mess.

You can say he'll be back tomorrow or you can say he'll back a year from now with equal probability of being correct.

But making wild guesses based on little to no knowledge of the situation is way more fun.

Throw Long Bannatyne

I was reading an article about Stefan Logan Als RB coach the other day that mentioned he was charged with a DUI during his playing days in Ohio, it did not cause a delay.  Come to think of it Greg Ellingson was charged in Ottawa for failing to provide a breath sample 2018, but in his case charges were dropped and he accepted a $1500 fine.  I bet Lawler would be happy if he could have got that deal!

It's an ongoing legal matter related to his admissibility as a non-resident. It can't be discussed publicly until it's resolved; and even then it'll probably only be limited information made public.

This is true. And, Lawler's paperwork wouldn't get any special attention because he is a football player.

Not sure of that.  There are expediting procedures when applying for almost anything in the gov't, Passports take moths but if you can prove need, you can pay to jump the line.  His job depends on this, and the jobs of others, so I could see it getting a little preferential treatment.

On teh other hand, depending on how the initial issue was handled, getting any gov't offical PO'd at you is not going to make things smoother or faster...
