1) How do you know he didn't?
2) How do you know the Bombers didn't?
3) How do you know reporters could access info but haven't because of retribution?

All wild speculation.

What else is new.

More hilarious whining and nonsensical entitlement.

1) I know he didn't because it wasn't taken care of.
2) I know the Bombers didn't because it wasn't taken care of.
3) Court records are public knowledge. A good reporter can find out what is going on if they have a mind to.
4) Retribution is a guess based on the fact that no reporters go against the Bombers spin of any story. It could be that they are just lazy too.

Go find the court records and report back to us, then.

Show me where/how you can view the status/details of those who have applied to immigration (through either a temporary resident permit or by claiming individual rehabilitation) to work in Canada?
Hint: you can't.

The first 2 are true, but there's no way to know the status of his visa - for us, the Bombers, or Lawler himself. We know the courts part of this. He plead guilty. The media even told us the date he pled guilty - so your nonsense about the media purposely not finding out available facts is just wrong.

His current application is not in a court of law. There is no court date scheduled that we're waiting for.

I agree, I don't think it's a court issue, his application is in the middle of a pile sitting on a Federal employees desk that has taken off for summer vacation.  Good luck contacting that person.

Maybe on the desk of a Gov't employee who is WFH at the cabin out on the pontoon boat at just the right spot to catch WIFI just long enough to classify as working

Not confirming or denying this actually happens......

The Lawler situation is certainly not ideal but hopefully it does get sorted out soon.

An active case/file would get moved to someone's caseload/workload who isn't on leave. Immigration matters are time-sensitive and wouldn't just sit unsecured on some random IRCC employee's desk.

Yes but there are no doubt less staff working during the summer months as many will be on leave. It?s slow going with this kind of thing.

It's already a slow, slow process. Always is with government operations. Throw in summer vacations and it makes it that much worse.

As frustrating as it is for us, the team, Lawler....there is ZERO motivation for the powers that be to expedite or even facilitate this through in a timely fashion.

Picture Patty and Selma at the DMV and Lawler's papers cross their desks...

Is this not the same dept. that's behind on passports?  Is it called "leave" now?  When employers told me to leave, they didn't want me coming back!

Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada is a sizeable agency of the public service with a number of mandates and responsibilities within the sphere of immigration, refugee, and citizenship matters.

Personnel shortages and caseload management have been major issues for this agency (and many others within the public service) for some time now but passport issuance for citizens and immigration processing for non-residents are two separate matters - for a number of reasons.

I'd have to imagine in Lawler's case something was either omitted or overlooked as it relates to his immigration eligibility due to criminality. And in order to resolve the oversight, he just has to wait his turn like anyone else who'd be a similar situation.

I still can't understand how such an oversight took place, though. It's unfortunate we can't know more presently but privacy has to respected in the meantime.

You make up a situation then say you don't understand it, then say his privacy has to be respected because of the made up situation. No it F'ing doesn't.

Important question: who originally told who that it would be "3 to 4 weeks"?

Did the gov tell Lawler it would be "3 to 4 weeks"?
Did they not, and it was Lawler telling WFC it would be "3 to 4 weeks"?
Did he not, and it was just the WFC telling the media it would be "3 to 4 weeks"?
Did they not, and it was just the media telling the fans it would be "3 to 4 weeks"?

Someone lied.

It's amazing how you can turn literally anything into a deep, confusing mystery that doesn't exist. Who cares "where he is"?

Because that would tell us more precisely what the hang up is.  Is he sitting in Emerson having a Tast-T-Freez and Happy Harrys being denied entry by the big guy that asks if you have any firearms 4 times in a row?  Or is he sitting at the Fairmont at Portage & Main negotiating gov appearance dates?

We don't even know what the exact hang up is.  Because we haven't been told.  So the prevailing theory that he's in WPG but just cannot work is just a guess, as good as the guess he's in Emerson.

I care where he is as that can fill in pieces of the story, and such pieces are required because no one is telling us anything.  I'm not asking to ruin his privacy.
