The School program is well under way with a lot less children for the breakfast part of the program. 19 kids this morning. Lunches are in the mid 30's on a regular basis. Seems like the healthier breakfast program has pushed a few children away. No more pop tarts, or bear claws. It's home made muffins, fruit, cereal, toast and some days pancakes.

Just finished our Turkey lunch for the kids, 52 kids in total. Lots of volunteers. The leftover will be made into turkey pot pies for senior. Love these ladies that spent hours in the kitchen cooking this great meal.

I'll say it again.  The good people who support this work through donations and helps are heroes. Well done.

Spent the morning dropping off baked treats to seniors in nursing homes. Our amazing volunteers, baked a lot of treats with help from some of the grade 5-6 students. The kids bagged up the treats, and today a group of volunteers and some of the kids headed out to the nursing homes. A very nice way to start the holidays.

Well, the schools are closed but you have to keep feeding the kids. Our church is putting on a lunch program running from 11-1pm. Averaging 55 kids per day. We are also running a spring break camp, for any parents/parent that can't afford to take this week off. There's 27 kids in that program. Pretty impressed with the number of volunteers. I am also pretty impressed with the lunches. Today was a turkey dinner.

Well, our school program is winding down. Another great year all because of some amazing volunteers. June 29th we will start our summer program. Again some amazing volunteers have raised $46,000 for this program which will be ran out of our church again this year.

Just over 20 days into our Summer program. Things are running pretty for the most part. Heat was a problem for a few days, but that just means finds things for kids to do in the AC of the building. We did have to hire a security guard for the mornings. Had some problems with the drug addicts and the homeless. We also have to check the parking lot and the playground on a regular basis for needles. This years there is 15 half day kids, and 34 full day kids. Again, you can't do this without an amazing group of volunteers.

Wow, the days are flying by. So far a very smooth summer. The volunteers are amazing. You can't run a program like this without an army of good people.
