Argos release B. Banks.

He should have had the good sense to retire once he won his Grey Cup.

Someone might sign him for a low ball offer if they have injuries or need a specialist

But agree

I bet he ends up back in Tiger Town for one last "home" grey cup. With the possibility of BLM signing there. He would be a good weapon for him.

BC releases Purifoy, he had an off season bonus coming like Banks did...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Hah, watch the Riders go after him, "all forgiven, we love you!".

He'll resurface though. He's still got gas in the tank. I'd even consider him as a Bomber if we can't re-sign Darby, he might be a could candidate at SAM and is very versatile. OTOH his SMS won't be low but he's a player.

Purifoy is a baller.  Very versatile.  Look good as a DB in blue & gold; no need to relegate him to SAM.  He's been pretty tame off-field for a quite a while compared to all the clown DBs SSK has/had.  He's been superb for both SSK and BC.

I think he'll command top dollar, and thus be out of our range, unless he wants to take a pay cut to reach the GC... I bet this means Sayles got "promoted" in BC.  Maybe only Lee (and maybe Peters?) ahead of him on the DB $$ chart?

Argos sign, Stiggers, Hassell and Moore (sounds like a law firm).

I thought Hassell could have been something here.  I'm a bit sad we let him go so easily.  I look forward to seeing what he can do in TOR.

BTW for TLDRers, Moore isn't the one you're thinking of.

Our secondary looks pretty good with everyone coming back. SAM is only a question due to potential free agency. Purifoy can certainly play other positions if and when necessary but that does come with an SMS cost.

Free agency is dynamic. Depending on what we spend on retaining our own free agents and who is left to add as possible replacements is a time sensitive issue. Need versus cost is not something we can really address until free agency hits the fan.

Purifoy as an example could sign somewhere tomorrow as a free agent. The team may already know if Darby and / or Maston are coming back.

That said, it's always worth a phone call to an agent to get some perspective. If we feel we will have a need and he's a fit from a personality and SMS point of view, then why not. OTOH if we know Darby is re-signing, then there is less need etc.

I wouldn't expect him to be a free agent for a long time. Edmonton comes to mind.

I wonder if Andrew Harris re-signs somewhere or will he finally hang it up?

If he?s smart , he would. Retire a champion. He was hurt more than he played this year and it?s only going to be worse next year. Hang em up

He played a huge role in turning around their locker room last season and stayed with the team after his "season ending" torn pectoral injury.    He could have come back to his home city but he chose to help influence the team in a positive fashion and was instrumental in their success later in the season.    That being said, he saw his role with his new team as "coaching" opportunity so he may consider retiring now.    I would love to see him back with us as a RB coach albeit that means our current RB coach would be displaced.    As for playing another season I think it would be wise now for him to retire after achieving all those Grey Cups and being instrumental in everyone of them.
