CFL.CA transaction show Walker and McCrae moved to free agent ( PR ). Burtenshaw moved to active roster.

I take that to mean a few things:

1. R. Hall decided an outside DE in Adams was more valuable this game than an inside DT. We'll use Lawson inside to rotate with our 2 DT's.
2. Step 1 allows us another DI elsewhere which could mean a DB ( Holm ) as a DI?
3. Ratio made it more difficult to get McCrae reps without being an obvious run / sweep effort or ploy?

IMO Bailey dresses and they hope he can play and last the game? If not then Grant will be inserted as a receiver doing dual duty. Note that if Holm is added he could see reps on returns too.

I predict Kolankowski, Holm and Houston are on the roster. Gauthier might not be able to play though.

He was listed as " limited " all this week and I think as " DNP " last week. Ankle injury issue. Also was trying to reason why they'd add Burkenshaw aside from what could be an open roster spot for a Canadian? What I previously thought about Kolankowski being added would be at the cost of Machino ( global ).

I suppose Gauthier could be used with less reps on defence of ST's if he less healthy.

It's always something to watch when some transactions are made and others that seem more obvious are not. Such as someone like Houston or the others I mentioned expected to be activated.

That and I don't quite understand the Burkenshaw addition although he has played in 10 games. If not him then who?

I cannot find the post on here but someone was posting the CFL teams GC records after winning 15+ games in the regular season or more. 1960 Blue Bombers dominated to a 14-2 record. Kenny Ploen always said the 1960 team was the best one he was ever on. We lost that GC game because Ploen broke a bone in his throwing hand. The Blue Bombers were going to win an extremely low scoring deciding game 3 against Edmonton. A freak fumble on Ploens broken hand gave the game to Edmonton. They should have won that series and game. The Blue Bombers back up rookie was completely ineffective and Grant has no choice but to play Ploen. Sometimes things are not what they seem until you investigate it a bit.

Got a feeling Clements will start at WIL and Gauthier will see less reps on D but still will get reps on ST.

I have been looking all over the internet and can't find that info.  CFL does a poor job of communicating that stuff.

Yes but it comes down to a ratio, roster size and decision on where we need a different DI.

I'd like to see McCrae back in 2023 regardless of whether we lose a receiver to free agency or not.

im confused by those "transactions" Walker and McCrae are both on the active roster but the transactions say "free agent". doesnt free agent mean released???

I feel like thos 2 guys have done everything they've needed to do whenever their names have been called.
I also think that McCrae is one of those very well hidden xfactor/depth chart gems!

I haven't seen the depth chart yet. I can imagine Holm on the roster but starting? That would suggest no Houston and Parker moved out to CB from DHB.

Kolankowski starting in front of Couture would surprise me as well.
