Grey Cup Halftime Act

really? Wow. Of all places he lives there. Weird. I thought he?d be in the states somewhere.

He had a place in LA for a while, but also kept a place in Winnipeg while his mom was still alive.  After she passed, he sold both those places and went Running Back to Saskatoon (or maybe Moose Jaw).

Insofar as getting the Guess Who back together?  Never gonna happen.  Gary and Jim (the two remaining founding members who own the rights to the band name and still occasionally perform on the Fair circuit in the States as The Guess Who) want nothing to do with Burton and Randy.

Source:  Gary Peterson, the drummer, is literally my godfather.  He moved to South Carolina about 25 years ago when his first marriage broke up, and used to come back to Winnipeg every 2 or 3 years and we'd go for dinner and catch up.  Had that reunion conversation many times.  Like I said, never gonna happen.  Besides, the new singer (Derek Sharp, he's married to Canadian singer Sass Jordan) is every bit as good as BC.

I get that it's not a good look for the CFL/Ambrosie, but this is all on the hosting team/organizing committee. They are 100% responsible for this.

I'm pretty sure it's the CFL that picks/negotiates the halftime act, not the hosting team.  Now, the organizing committee might well do it, but they answer to Ambrosie, no?  If they screw up, the buck stops with Ambrosie.

If you?re sure, I stand corrected and take my comments back then. Thanks for setting me straight. I seem to recall the WFC announcing the booking of Fallout Boy back in the 15 Grey Cup. Maybe it changed since then, or maybe I misremember, I don?t know. Anyways, that?s where my comments came from.

Hey, I'm just guessing, but it stands to reason that the CFL would have veto power (or more!) over any halftime choice.  It's the CFL's rep on the line, not the home team.  If halftime stunk or was inappropriate (The Wiggles!) the heat would fall on Ambrosie, not some anonymous committee in the hosting city.

If you left it up to the city, and they have already sold out, and they still haven't announced the act, then to make big $$ why not sign the frisbee dog act for $10 and a Pils and pocket the remainder??  No one would think to blame the city.

You may be right, but that would be a messed up way to conduct business.  All the egg from this mess will land on Ambrosie's face.

I get that. I do also seem to remember though Wade Miller owning the decision. There was some criticism for choosing a non-Canadian act.
